‘Uncharted’: PlayStation 5 Owners Who Buy the ‘Legacy of Thieves Collection’ Can Get Free Movie Tickets
Uncharted fans who plan on seeing the upcoming movie should pay attention to PlayStation‘s latest deal. In celebration of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection releasing on PlayStation 5, people who purchase the collection can nab a free ticket to see the Tom Holland movie in theaters. The deal will only be around until early February, though, so fans should act fast. Here’s what to know.
What’s included in ‘Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection’?
The new video game collection, available exclusively on PlayStation 5, contains remastered editions of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The bundle brings several upgraded features to match the PS5’s capabilities.
According to PlayStation’s blog, fans can choose from three gameplay modes — Fidelity (30fps as 4K resolution), Performance (60fps), and Performance+ (120 fps at 1080p). Basically, the games have major graphics upgrades. Additionally, the collection has improved load times, Spatial 3D Audio, and haptic feedback from the DualSense controller. All of this gives players a much more immersive Uncharted experience.
For the uninitiated, the critically-acclaimed Uncharted games follow treasure hunter Nathan Drake on a series of standalone adventures. Along the way, he has help from various allies, including Victor “Sully” Sullivan, Elena Fisher, and Chloe Frazer.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes place several years after Nathan’s retirement when his presumed-death brother, Samuel, pulls him back into treasure-hunting. Meanwhile, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy serves as an expansion to the fourth game, but it follows Chloe’s story instead.
How to get a free ‘Uncharted’ movie ticket with ‘Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection’
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is available for pre-order now ahead of its release on Jan. 28. Those who purchase the collection via the PlayStation Store will receive a voucher code for one free movie ticket to Uncharted.
The movie ticket offer runs until Feb. 3 at 11:59 p.m. PT, so there are still a few days after the collection’s release to nab one. The offer is only available in the U.S., U.K., New Zealand, and Australia.
Additionally, PlayStation is offering upgrades to the collection on PS5 for a small fee. Players who already purchased Uncharted 4, A Lost Legacy, or the digital-only bundle of the two games on PS4 can pay $10 to receive the Legacy of Thieves Collection on PS5. Otherwise, the collection costs $49.99 at launch.
‘Uncharted’ starring Tom Holland hits theaters in February
Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland takes on the role of young Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie. He’s joined by Mark Wahlberg, who plays Sully. The story follows Nathan and Sully’s adventure for a $5 billion fortune. However, Nathan and Sully aren’t the only ones in search of the treasure, and they face grave danger.
Uncharted’s cast also includes Antonio Banderas, Sophia Taylor Ali, and Tati Gabrielle.
Holland is a big fan of the Uncharted games, so he put great dedication into getting the movie right. Speaking at Sony’s CES 2022 event, the actor said the movie has “a lot of heart” and “respect.”
“What’s so nice about our movie is you have this very tangible relationship between Nate and Sully, which is really the heart of the movie,” Holland explained. “It’s about a young orphan looking for his family and in turn finding a family in the most sort of unorthodox way.”
Uncharted hits theaters on Feb. 18.
