‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ has its own spin-off series, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked’

Girl, if you’re not watching Untucked, you’re only getting half of the story. This series tells fans what happens behind the scenes of the competition, and, it comes with a few iconic moments. From Laganja Estranja’s “I feel very attacked” to Aja’s Linda Evangelista monologue, Untucked became just as popular as RuPaul’s Drag Race itself.

“I would say the Untucked with Raven being like ‘Out of all the girls, they choose Mimi Imfurst?’ That’s one of my favorites,” Dahila Sin said during an interview with Billboard, regarding her favorite RuPaul’s Drag Race moment. “Oh, and Tammie Brown sitting there saying ‘Teleport us to Mars!’ That whole Untucked moment is incredible.”

In the past, this spin-off premiered on YouTube after the official episode of RuPaul’s series. For other seasons, it premiered on the television network, Logo. Now, with its success and popularity, Untucked permanently made the switch to VH1, premiering alongside the corresponding episode of Drag Race.

The celebrity guest judges often come backstage during ‘Untucked’

Sure, you can see the celebrity guests alongside RuPaul on the judge’s panel. Sometimes, the celebrities head backstage to interact with the contestants directly. That includes Nicki Minaj, who appeared at the premiere of season 12.

There was even a bit a drama, stirred up between Heidi N Closet and Miss Nicki Minaj herself. When Nicki Minaj asked if the contestants had any questions, the drag queen wasn’t shy in asking about her critiques. Specifically, Heidi asked why Nicki Minaj says she hated her face. Of course, fans on social media went crazy.

With season 12 holding so many iconic judges, (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Daisy Ridley, Robyn, and Chaka Khan just to name a few,) viewers can’t wait to see how they’ll interact with these drag queens.

Fans responded to the first episode of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked’

There’s no knowing what the future of RuPaul’s Drag Race or Untucked will bring. However, some fans took to social media after the first episode of season 12, sharing their love for some moments during RuPaul’s spin-off series.

#DragRace so glad we’re getting the Untucked this season, this is where you really get to know the Queens. So, see you in the afterparty,” one Twitter user wrote.

Untucked is making me cry. Heidi talking about building walls up so when people leave it doesn’t hurt. That hit: DIFFERENT,” another Twitter user said.

New episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race premiere Friday nights on VH1. Until then, fans can watch some episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked from season 9 on World of Wonder’s YouTube Channel.
