‘Vanderpump Rules’: Dayna Kathan Thought She and Max Boyens Were Going to ‘Be a Thing’ and Was ‘Obsessed’ With Him

Dayna Kathan from Vanderpump Rules admits during the reunion that she was pretty obsessed with Max Boyens and thought the two were going to be a couple.

Boyens and Kathan dated and while he seemed to be into her, he pulled away and turned his attention to other women. This left Kathan feeling pretty confused and hurt as Boyens tried to defend his position that they were never truly a couple.

Kathan gets pretty real during the reunion and fully admits she had some serious feelings for Boyens after Tom Schwartz asks if the two ever had a “honeymoon” phase.

Boyens and Kathan have differing accounts of their relationship

Boyens denied ever making it appear as though the two were exclusive but a flashback clip proves otherwise. “I’m more of a person that even when I do hang out with a woman I don’t run around talking about it,” he shared at the reunion. “But yeah, I downplayed it because we’re still trying to figure out what we’re doing.”

He adds, “My staff at that point is running around going Max and Dayna are exclusive. It’s just weird, I don’t like people getting in my business.” However, Kathan reminds Boyens he’s been dating around quite a bit. A flashback clip shows how he was dating someone else and Kathan questions him about it. He claims he was trying to “ease himself off of her” so he could pursue Kathan.

“You were trying to keep her an option, you guys started sleeping together in the summer,” Kathan asserts. “You were trying to keep her on the back burner to keep things copasetic.” Boyens insists that her assertion is not true.

Kathan admits that she fell for Boyens

Tom Schwartz decided to play host and jumped into the conversation. “Max and Dayna was there ever a honeymoon phase in your relationship? Were you guys ever committed to each other?” he asked. The question gave Kathan a segway to really explain how she felt about Boyens.

“I will say it,” she responds. “I was f**king obsessed with Max. He’s very charming, he’s extremely charismatic. I understand why so many women feel this way about him. There’s no shame in my game. I was so into him.”

She added that she completely thought they were a couple too. “And it was real for me.” Kathan says Boyens acted committed to a number of women, including her.

Boyens thinks the women he dates get too involved too fast

Boyens insists he didn’t act like he was exclusive with the other women. But Kathan says all these women cannot have the exact same story and there is no truth.

“You know what’s the same with all you girls is when I hang out with you for two f**king weeks, and you guys just run with your emotions with me,” he insists. “It’s two weeks!” Cameras capture stunned reactions, including host Andy Cohen who looks shocked at the remark.

Cohen points out that Kathan and Boyens reconnected after filming stopped. “We spent some holidays at Tom and Katie’s and it just felt organic,” she said. “And sometimes you have an ex and things are just unfinished. It always felt really unfinished.” This led Cohen to ask Boyens to comment on the number of women he’s actually slept with … the answer (hopefully) to come during the reunion.

The Vanderpump Rules reunion airs on Tuesday at 9/8c on Bravo.
