Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor announce they aren’t coming back

Taylor and Cartwright took to Instagram to announce their departures.

“The last 5 years on ‘Vanderpump Rules’ have been some of the most challenging, rewarding, and fulfilling years of my life,” Cartwright captioned a photo of herself. “Although this is difficult to share, Jax and I will not be returning for another season of ‘Vanderpump Rules.’ We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors. @bravotv, @evolutionusa, and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts. Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you. Stay tuned.”

Taylor posted a picture with an almost identical caption, just switching out the length of time that he had been on the show.

Some of the couple’s former castmates commented on the photos with well-wishes and kind words.

“I am so happy, I love you guys,” Kristen Doute, who was also fired, wrote under Taylor’s picture.

Stassi Scroeder, who was let go earlier this year, and Tom Schwartz both commented under Cartwright’s photo, saying how much they loved her.

Who else was fired?

The Vanderpump Rules firings started earlier this year after former castmember Faith Stowers revealed a shocking story about Schroeder.

“There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African American lady,” Stowers told Floribama Shore star Candace Rice during an Instagram Live. “They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from actually Stassi during an interview. It was just funny, because they thought it was me because it was a Black woman with a weave. So they just assumed it would be me, and they called the cops on me.”

After Rice’s story went viral, both Schroeder and Doute were fired. They weren’t the only ones who were let go for racial transgressions. Newcomers Brett Caprioni and Max Boyens were both fired for using racially inflammatory language in the past.

Screenshots of some 20212 tweets from Boyens went viral, prompting his firing.

“It upsets me that the word n— is not allowed to be said unless you are black because quite honestly it’s my favorite word,” he wrote, according to  screenshots. He later apologized, saying ““It is not a representation of who I am. I am shocked I ever tweeted that — and I am disgusted and embarrassed — I am truly sorry.”

Caprioni also apologized for his past racial statements, but they both were let go anyway.
