‘Vanderpump Rules’: Lala Kent Is Expecting Her First Child With Randall Emmett, What Does This Mean for the Show?
Lala Kent and Randall Emmett are taking the next step in their relationship. The engaged couple is getting ready to have a baby. Kent and Emmett announced their pregnancy yesterday on their podcast Give Them Lala…with Randall. The couple is excited for the birth of their first child, but what does this mean for Kent’s role on Vanderpump Rules?
Lala and Randall pushed their baby plans up
Kent and Emmett had originally planned to get married before having a baby but their wedding plans had to get pushed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“I will tell you that we’re more ready to get married now than we ever were,” Emmett recently told Us Weekly. “It’s like, alright, we got robbed of our wedding on April 18. I was on set when she called me and was like, ‘You know we have to push the date,’ and I was like, ‘I know’ and she said, ‘Are you okay with that?’ and I burst into tears like a little baby. It was heartbreaking.”
After pushing their wedding back, Kent decided to push some other plans up.
“Lala is ready, that’s all I can say,” Emmett said of Kent wanting to have a baby. “The thing was, she had a plan. I think COVID definitely changed how we look at life. [She said], ‘Okay, I’m gonna take my IUD out, we’re gonna get married, and then we’ll have babies, we’ll go on our honeymoon, blah blah blah,’ but COVID hit and it was like, nope, your plans are not happening that way.”
Randall and Lala have been trying to get pregnant
Though Emmett and Kent have decided to get married on September 18, they started working on having a baby before that.
“We are working at that currently,” he recently told the outlet. “We are on the Flo app. We are on the apps. Lala, whatever day it is, she comes in, she says, ‘Give me a baby!’ and then I hop right to it.”
They began tracking when Kent was ovulating and trying to optimize on that time.
“We have our normal course of being together, and then the moment comes, and she’s just like, ‘It’s Friday at 3 o’clock. You are not going anywhere,’” he continued. “So yes, we are working on it. It is only a matter of time.”
What does this mean for ‘Vanderpump Rules’?
Kent announced her pregnancy earlier this week on her podcast.
“I’m, like, shaking right now because I can’t believe that it’s a real-life thing,” she said. “I’m really emotional. … I cry about everything, but today it’s very much happy tears. … For my 30th birthday, I have the best gift given to me — my body also helped out too — I am pregnant.”
Filming for Vanderpump Rules has been on pause due to the coronavirus pandemic so Kent is not currently filming. When filming does resume, Kent’s role on the show probably won’t look much different than before she got pregnant. The star had already given up drinking so she had already slowed down on having dramatic blow-ups with the rest of the cast.
Given the fact that Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute are no longer on the show, it would be highly inconvenient if Kent took a season off.
