‘Vanderpump Rules’: Scheana Shay Shares Why She’s Optimistic About Season 10
Scheana Shay says she’s “manifesting” another season of Vanderpump Rules and is optimistic that the cast will have a season 10.
Vanderpump Rules Season 9 returned to Bravo after a significant hiatus and a reduced cast. The previous season attempted to add several new cast members to the original group and fans (and the cast) complained the collaboration seemed clunky.
Between seasons, three original cast members were fired. Most of the new cast were also dismissed, which included Jax Taylor’s wife Brittany Cartwright and Stassi Schroeder’s husband, Beau Clark.
The series returned in 2021 looking and feeling somewhat like a new series. But instead of the show’s original thesis of hijinks amongst attractive young servers at SUR, the show morphed into the cast having babies, opening businesses, and couples enduring breakups.
Despite the changes and shifts, Shay, who had a baby and got engaged during the season, believes the show still has enough life to continue.
‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 9 ended on a season high for ratings
Shay and fiancé Brock Davies said ratings tell the story. “We never find out right away,” Shay said on her Scheananigans with Scheana Shay podcast if the show will return. “We don’t know yet. What we do know is the finale and reunion ratings were the highest they were all season. So ending on a high note like that I think is such a good sign that the viewers want more.”
“They’re interested in how this story ended,” she continued. “And wanna see where it’s gonna go.” Part 2 of the Vanderpump Rules reunion hit a season-high of “0.883 million viewers [in the] 0.27 18-49 demo,” Bravo Ratings reported.
Many ‘Vanderpump Rules’ storylines are continuing
Davies said while he’s new to the show, he thinks everyone wants to see how the stories play out. “If everyone has seen you guys’ journeys and I’m interested to see James [Kennedy] and Raquel [Leviss] and Lala [Kent],” he said. “I really am. Because Lala is stepping out of her box now. She’s on girls’ nights. She’d been going on girls’ nights, she’s been having fun. Like I’ve never met that version.”
“Maybe these are new people,” he said referring to Kent’s breakup with Randall Emmett and Leviss and Kennedy’s breakup during the reunion. “So I would like there to be another season. For sure. Would you guys support another season? We hope!”
Do ‘Vanderpump Rules’ fans want another season?
“I am just manifesting a season 10,” Shay added. “Because I think there is still so much story to tell. Like there’s so much going on with us right now. Even yesterday … disagreements that were said in the press, and phone calls and texts. I’m like, this is why we have a show!”
So do fans want to see more? According to a few comments on Twitter, fans are here for more Vanderpump Rules. “Oh the wedding In Bali is now off ! So I bet that means they possibly got picked up for season 10. Everything for the show. I bet Vanderpump rules can’t film in Bali,” one person tweeted referring to Shay and Davies wedding plans.
Another fan liked how the show has progressed. “Things have changed, it’s no longer centred around them all working for LVP, still lots of drama and it’s interesting to see what’s happening in their “grown up” lives. Don’t really see the point of Charley though, guess they needed a filler?”
