‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 9: Bravo Releases First Look of New Season Coming This Fall
Fans of Vanderpump Rules are finally getting new content of the Bravo reality series. After missing out on filming over a year ago due to the pandemic, the show is finally back in production. The cable network released a teaser on social media with what’s to coming in season 9 and we got all the details for you.
Who is coming back for ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 9?
Since we last saw Vanderpump Rules, the cast had done a virtual reunion for season 8 and they were all excited to return for another season. However, the pandemic hit the restaurant business really hard and Lisa Vanderpump was forced to shut down her bars. With the establishments closed, there didn’t seem to be a show to film and production kept being pushed back.
In addition, several cast members were involved in many scandals, which included being racially insensitive. As the Black Lives Matter movement raised awareness of police brutality and systemic racism against the Black community, Vanderpump Rules received major flack.
Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired from the reality series after former castmate Faith Stowers recalled they called the police on her for an incident that didn’t even involve her. Furthermore, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were also let go for racist tweets from their past that resurfaced.
The show was in desperate need of a retool and the break from filming helped as well. Variety recently reported that the show would be back in production in the coming weeks. The trade publication also confirmed the following cast members returning: Vanderpump, Tom Schwartz, Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Ariana Maddix, Scheana Shay, Lala Kent, James Kennedy, and Raquel Leviss.
No word on who will be added to the cast or if breakout Charli Burnett would also return.
‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 9 sneak peek
Just like Vanderpump promised during a recent interview, Vanderpump Rules fans would get snippets of Kent being pregnant. Both Kent and Shay just gave birth to their babies recently and had been expecting the better part of 2020.
In the sneak peek that Bravo shared, Kent says she’s proud of her body at 37 weeks pregnant. Randall Emmett is also in the scene asking Schwartz and Maloney if they were trying to get pregnant as well.
Maloney suggests her husband gets his sperm tested and Schwartz says that he’s been “laying off the hot tub.” Kent then makes another revelation about her man that nobody needed to hear.
At the end of the short clip, the cable network announces that the new season would premiere in the fall.
Other ‘Vanderpump Rules’ cast members not returning
Jax Taylor will also not be returning to Vanderpump Rules along with his wife Brittany Cartwright. The couple announced their departure late in 2020 after seemingly showing interesting in moving forward with the show.
“The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding, and fulfilling years of my life,” Taylor posted on Instagram announcing his exit. “Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules. We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors.”
Another cast member that recently announced she wasn’t returning to the Bravo series was Dayna Kathan. The latter had just joined the show in season 8 and was tied in a love triangle with Boyens and Caprioni, who were fired last year.
“I’m not returning but excited to see next szn! The pod will be back soon, you’re amazing, thank you!!!” she replied to a fan on Instagram.
Bravo is expected to confirm new additions to the Vanderpump Rules cast in the following months.
