‘Very Cavallari’: The Real Reason Kristin Cavallari Ended Her Friendship With Kelly Henderson
On the Season 3 premiere of Very Cavallari, Kristin Cavallari revealed why she and Kelly Henderson are no longer best friends.
Over the course of the 1-hour episode that aired on Jan. 9, Cavallari let viewers in on the status of her friendship with Henderson and how they went from very close to not speaking to each other, according to E! News.
During an on-camera interview for the reality series, Cavallari addressed the absence of her former best friend from her life. “The biggest change in my personal life is that my best friend Kelly and I haven’t talked in two months,” she said. “We’ve had a major falling out and it’s just been breaking my heart.”
Fans of Very Cavallari previously saw Henderson on the show alongside Cavallari in Seasons 1 and 2.
‘Not for one second’ did Cavallari believe affair rumors
The drama between Cavallari and Henderson began when E! had been airing Season 2 of Very Cavallari. While talking about the situation with Justin Anderson and Stephanie “Biegs” Biegel, Cavallari opened up about rumors that began swirling on social media about her husband, Jay Cutler, having an affair with her then-best friend, Henderson.
She told her Anderson and Biegel, Henderson only contacted her to discuss the show’s filming schedule and the cheating rumors. In another on-camera interview, the founder of Uncommon James offered up some details about what transpired between her and Henderson.
“When Season 2 was airing, there was a lot of talk on social media about Jay and Kelly having an affair,” Cavallari said. “Not for one second have I ever thought that it was true.”
So why did the mother of three’s friendship with Henderson end? In a way, because of the affair rumors.
Cavallari felt Henderson ‘added fuel to the fire’
What bothered Cavallari wasn’t the rumors but how her then-best friend responded to them.
“It wasn’t the actual accusations of them having an affair that made me upset, it was how Kelly went about it,” she told the cameras.
Cavallari said her former best friend mentioned Cutler repeatedly on Twitter when the affair rumors had been circulating online. The reality TV star and business owner who got her start on MTV’s Laguna Beach said Henderson’s move only added “fuel to the fire.” On top of that, she felt like her friend “was using Jay for her own personal gain.”
Cavallari shared her feelings about the drama with Anderson and Biegel, saying, “Why do you want to post about that? To get more attention about it.”
“If I was accused of having an affair with your husband, I wouldn’t say his f****ng name on social media. Like, come on,” she added.
Cavallari says Henderson got ‘really defensive’
When Cavallari tried talking to her friend about the affair rumors, things took a turn and ended up with the pair not speaking.
“Instead of her just owning her side of it and being like, ‘I’m sorry! Oh my god, that was never my intention’ or whatever, she kept giving me push back and would get really defensive,” Cavallari later said. “And then, she literally just stopped responding to me.”
To her, the silence felt like “a slap in the face.”
“The point is, I feel very used. I care way too much about her to just be like, ‘Oh f**k her’ or whatever,” she said before adding, “But, I’m not willing to just let it go. And I don’t know if I’m ready to just move on.”
She later reflected on what happened with her husband, telling Cutler, “Like, my best friend could care less about me, unless it has to do with what she can gain from me and you.” Watch Very Cavallari on E! at 9 p.m. every Thursday night.
