This Video of Meghan Markle Dancing With Archie Has Her Fans and Critics Losing It
Meghan Markle is making her many fans happy — but she may be warming over some of her harshest critics, too. In a video Prince Harry and Markle posted on their Instagram account, the duchess is seen at one point dancing with baby Archie during their royal tour of Africa. You’d have to be a robot not to smile at that.
Archie makes his first appearance on the tour
Royal fans were overjoyed to see now four-month-old baby Archie during Prince Harry and Markle’s tour of Africa, when he stepped out with mom and dad to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu in Cape Town.
The baby was carried by his mom as she and Prince Harry walked along to meet Tutu and his daughter, Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe. The Sussexes then sat down to chat with Tutu and Tutu-Gxashe while their photos were taken.
Archie was happy but wiggly, as Markle shifted his position throughout their meeting and Harry explained that the baby “constantly wants to stand.”
Archie is “an old soul”
Markle shared some insight into Archie’s personality, calling him “an old soul,” while Prince Harry remarked that his son was a natural with the media attention, noting, “I think he is used to it already.”
Tutu-Gxashe joked to the baby: “You like me, don’t you? You like the ladies better, don’t you? He’s going to be a ladies’ man.”
The Sussexes were given gifts from Tutu, including photos of Princess Diana as well as children’s books written by the Archbishop, a children’s songbook, a book of poetry and the Book of Joy, signed by the Archbishop and the Dalai Lama.

The Sussexes later posted a video to their Instagram account that showed some behind-the-scenes footage of their meeting with Tutu and Tutu-Gxashe, including a brief moment where Markle held Archie in her outstretched arms and the two danced together.
The video’s caption notes: “Thanks Cape Town for another impactful and memorable day! A few more highlights of this very special visit with Archbishop Desmond Tutu.”
There was also a very cute high five between Tutu and Archie captured in the video, which everyone smiled and cheered for.
Another photo posted on their account showed Tutu giving Archie a kiss, with the caption: “‘Thank you Archbishop Tutu for your incredibly warm hospitality, Archie loved meeting you!’ — The Duke and Duchess.”
How much more of Archie will fans see?
It’s unclear if Archie will make another appearance during the tour, as Prince Harry and Markle have mostly stepped out for their engagements without him, but this meeting with Tutu and his daughter definitely left fans satisfied.
Fans were thrilled by Archie’s brief appearance and the chance to confirm that Archie does look just like dad Prince Harry. Even Prince Harry and Markle’s haters couldn’t find anything to be critical about.
One fan tweeted: “Beautiful baby Archie! He looks so much like his father, Prince Harry. But also has his mom’s heart. I believe they are the best representative of the royal family internationally, because Prince Harry and Princess Megan represent a diverse multi cultural royalty. I love that!”
