Anyone who watched Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s storybook wedding will remember the duke getting emotional on his big day. Seven years earlier, Harry also had some emotional moments where he looked to be tearing up when his brother, Prince William, married the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton).

Now, a video has gone viral that features clips from those days showing the prince’s tearful moments and other personal memories that we’ll likely never see again.

When Prince Harry cried at his wedding to Meghan Markle

On May 19, 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle in front of 600 guests, and millions more from around the world who tuned into the broadcast.

It was hard to ignore how nervous the prince looked inside the chapel as he waited for his bride. He appeared to be struggling to keep it together when Meghan walked up the aisle toward him. Then, at another point during the ceremony, he was overcome with emotion when a touching hymn was sung. That hymn was also sung at his mother, Princess Diana‘s funeral when he was just 12 years old.

Harry also looked on the verge of tears a few more times when he looked into Meghan’s eyes. And as seen in a 44-second video posted to TikTok, he appeared to be wiping tears away as they stood at the alter together.

But those weren’t the only emotional moments the Duke of Sussex had at a wedding. The TikTok video opens with him standing by William’s side as he and Kate said “I do.” Harry can be seen dropping his head, then looking up as if he’s fighting back tears, before lowering his head again.

Harry has spoken about that moment in his memoir Spare. He confessed that while he was happy for the couple he was dealing with losing his brother, writing: “They made each other visibly happy, and therefore I was happy too. But in my gut, I couldn’t help feeling that this was yet another farewell under this horrid roof.
Another sundering. The brother I’d escorted into Westminster Abbey that morning was gone–forever.”

The video has been viewed more than 4 million times with over 320,000 likes and thousands of comments.

Some of the clips also focus on happier times and the special bond between Prince Harry and his sister-in-law. Knowing their relationship is non-existent now is something that leaves many fans wanting to cry.

As one user wrote: “It’s actually really sad to be honest.”

“Now it’s like they don’t even know each other,” a second person added, while another chimed in, “Awww Kate and Haz were so close.”

And a fourth concluded: “The way he used to laugh … We don’t see that Harry anymore.”
