‘Vikings’: Fans Reveal Their ‘Favorite Character’ in the Series
There are so many characters in the hit series Vikings. Obviously, many fans have different opinions when it comes to their “favorite character” in the show. Fans once weighed in with their own thoughts on the matter, and they didn’t hold back.
Fans reveals their ‘favorite character’ in the series ‘Vikings’
In 2016, a fan on Reddit posted a title, “Who is your favorite character and why?” They continue in the post, “For me it’s Bjorn, what about you guys?”
Fans weighed in with their own thoughts, and opinions are all over the place. Some fans named Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), the main character, which makes a lot of sense. He was a farmer who became the King of Kattegat, making a name for himself that lasted long after his death.
One fan recalls the way Ragnar handled King Horik (Donal Logue), who was out to destroy him and his family. “Ragnar,” they said. “The way he dealt with King Horik was a master plan. He is a cunning man with wits and a loving father, what more could you ask of such a man?”
Another fan calls Ragnar “clever and complex” as well as “flawed,” which is an accurate statement for his character.
“I love Ragnar most of all!” they declared. “He’s so clever and complex and flawed. He’s definitely what draws me to the show more than any of the other characters.”
‘Lagertha for sure’
Some fans named Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), Ragnar’s first wife and a powerful shield-maiden that became a Queen in her own right. She is also the mother of Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig).
“Lagertha for sure,” a fan said. “Though Rollo does come a close second. My eyes just look for her in every scene, she just steals the show. They should just rename Vikings to ‘Lagertha’ already.”
A fan named Athelstan as their favorite character
Athelstan (George Blagden) was also chosen by some fans. He was a Saxon monk abducted by Ragnar on the first raid on England. They become best friends, and Athelstan turns into a Viking in his own right, but he always struggles between his two cultures and religions. He’s killed by Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) in season 3.
“Athelstan…he was really the only moral person out of the lot,” a fan said. “And Ragnar treated him better than his wives lol.”
1 fan says ‘Rollo without a doubt’
Some fans named Rollo (Clive Standen), who is the brother of Ragnar that betrays him and ends up the Duke of Normandy married to a princess and maker of his own destiny.
“Rollo without a doubt,” a fan said. “Just a great combination of straight-up bad—— and character depth. He makes a great flawed hero and is probably the most relatable character in the show; also Clive Standen does a great job. Second is Floki.”
Other characters mentioned include Floki and King Ecbert of Wessex (Linus Roache). Fans have a lot of different opinions when it comes to their “favorite character” in the hit series Vikings, which is to be expected.
