‘Vikings’ Season 6: Will Bjorn Ironside Become King of Kattegat?
History’s Vikings will be back with a final season and fans can’t wait to see how it all ends. There are still so many questions that need to be answered, including whether or not Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) has finally been proclaimed King of Kattegat. There are spoilers ahead.
Will Bjorn Ironside become king?
The all-new trailer for season 6 may have the answer. Almost immediately, people are chanting, “All hail King Bjorn” as it starts. He has finally taken back his inheritance as the first son of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and the rightful ruler of Kattegat. He’s now taken his father’s place as king, which inevitably will lead to problems down the road. Everyone will naturally compare the two leaders with familial ties. “People of Kattegat, I am but your humble servant,” Bjorn tells the people who have gathered around.
Bjorn is seen flexing his muscles as a powerful King in the new trailer. At one point, he’s sitting on a beach side by side with his brother Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen). They will come face to face before it’s all over. “It seems the gods brought us together again my brother,” Ivar says to Bjorn. “They must enjoy seeing us fight.”
Will Bjorn become the King of Norway?
In the trailer, King Olaf (Steven Berkoff) comes to visit King Bjorn with a surprising offer of even bigger things for the new King of Kattegat. “It is time to elect a king who will defend us. A king of all Norway. And what better man than you, Bjorn Ironside,” King Olaf says. We will have to see if Bjorn goes for it or not. It seems like he’s going to be pretty preoccupied with an impending war of his own.
When does ‘Vikings’ season 6 premiere?
The final season will premiere on December 4 at 9 p.m. E.S.T. with a two-hour special premiere. An additional eight episodes will follow. Another 10 episodes will also air sometime in 2020. It will at least feel like two seasons when it’s all said and done.
What else will happen in season 6 of ‘Vikings’?
Based on the new trailer, we can predict a few things about the upcoming season. There will be a war to come between the sons of Ragnar. At some point, Bjorn and Ivar will meet and speak together, as the trailer shows. Could this happen after the large battle scene?
The Rus Vikings will certainly be involved. Ivar will travel on the famous Silk Road and end up in Russia. He will meet Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky), who is seen in the trailer.
“I have decided to treat your arrival here as a sign, Ivar the Boneless,” Prince Oleg says. I have ordered the construction of a great fleet for the invasion of Scandinavia and you can help.” It sounds like the two will be teaming up to take down Bjorn and everyone else.
Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) is determined to find Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård), who has gone missing. He decides to seek him out. Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) seeks his own revenge on Ivar.
Vikings fans can’t wait to see a new side to Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). Once the Queen of Kattegat, she is clearly here for her son’s rise to glory. She chooses a life out of the spotlight and has her own farm, at least until danger finds her once again. She is seen in the trailer fighting with the other warriors.
Bjorn and the rest of the Vikings will be back soon for the final season and the conclusion of the story of the sons of Ragnar.
