‘Vikings’ Season 6, Episode 9: New Promos Show Bjorn Preparing for the Inevitable
Vikings season 6 is gearing up to be an absolutely shocking season. King Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) has no idea what’s really coming for him in Kattegat. Read on to learn about a few promo trailers for episode 9 of season 6 of Vikings. There are spoilers ahead.
‘The Rus are coming’
Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) is still with Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) as he prepares for what’s to come. Oleg has plans to invade Scandinavia, including Kattegat, which seems inevitable at this point. Episode 8 shows some of Oleg’s raiding parties attacking unsuspecting civilians. There will be more raiding to come when the rest of the Rus land.
A new promo shows that episode 9 will include everyone gearing up for an impending war. A man speaks to Bjorn about what’s about to happen.
“The Rus are coming,” the man says.
“Who are these people?” Bjorn Ironside asks.
“They are a vast kingdom rich in resources, huge armies. Perhaps they mean to invade all of Scandinavia,” the man tells Bjorn. “We can not possibly resist them.”
“And yet we must resist,” Bjorn responds in anger. “We are not only fighting for ourselves, but for our gods.”
The new trailer also shows Oleg’s large armies gathering for a major invasion.
There’s another promo for episode 9
In another promo for the upcoming episode, a lot of new developments take place along with Bjorn learning about the Rus invasion that seems inevitable. Gunnhild (Ragga Ragnars) speaks to Ingrid about how she’s free to marry Bjorn.
In another scene, Torvi (Georgia Hirst) is laying there in agony and a woman says, “I may have to cut her stomach to take out the baby.”
“Does that mean she will die?” Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) asks.
Another major difference between this new trailer and the first is we get to see Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) with Ivar and Igor. It looks like the brothers’ war is far from over and Hvitserk and Ivar will be reunited again.
Fans react to the promos
One fan seems to be happy about Ivar and Hvitserk reuniting when they said: “Ivar and Hvitserk belong together, on equal terms they’re going to be an even better duo than before, I’m hyped. Hvitserk’s story has just begun. Also .. I’m interested to see Hvitserk’s reaction to seeing Katya. He can confirm or not whether Ivar is just seeing Freydis or not.”
“My boy Ivar is coming to claim what is his with fire and blood,” a Reddit user said.
Some people are confused about how Hvitserk makes it all the way to Russia so quickly. “Okay, how exactly did Hvitserk walk all the way to West Russia?” someone asked.
More time must have passed between episodes. “I think a lot more time has passed then we realized,” a Reddit user explained. “When Bjorn was seeing Ubbe off and giving that speech, it was snowing but then it liked panned around and the boats were gone and it was no longer snowing/weather was clear. Then Ubbe was in Iceland.”
There is only one episode left before the finale of the first half of the final season of Vikings.
