‘Vikings’ Season 6: What Will Happen in the Mid-Season Finale?
Vikings fans can’t wait for episode 10 of season 6 to arrive. Things are heating up and everything is headed for a massive battle in the mid-season finale. Read on to learn what the promo trailer has in store for eager fans and what might happen. There are possible spoilers ahead.
The Rus are coming
A lot is going on in the promo trailer for episode 10 of Vikings. Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) is gearing up for battle against the Rus who are coming in fierce numbers to take Kattegat. There are many scenes of the Rus ships on their way. There are also battle scenes and many of the main characters are highlighted if only for a second, including Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø), Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen), Harald (Peter Franzén), and Bjorn.
We see Bjorn on a beach saying, “I will defeat you. I will win. The gods are with me.”
Ivar appears to be seated next to him as he says, “You are wrong. The gods abandoned you a long time ago my brother. There’s no way you can win.”
At the end of the trailer, we see Bjorn still seated on the beach around a bunch of dead people slain in battle.
Thoughts on the trailer and what’s to come
Bjorn can’t possibly escape his ultimate fate at the hands of the Rus. He faces a huge army even with Harald’s help. Will he keep fighting or will he surrender to Ivar and the Rus? It seems like a good bet that he’ll surrender eventually considering all the build up about this enormous army that Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) has at his disposal.
Bjorn has made mistakes, especially this season
Bjorn isn’t immune to failure in the slightest. He’s made a lot of mistakes this season and he’s questioning himself constantly at this point. He’s already unsure if the gods still favor him or not. Bjorn may choose to surrender his crown to Ivar and the Rus and abandon his title as King of Kattegat after the battle.
It’s already been established that the people of Kattegat are no match for this fighting force that is the mighty Rus. Bjorn could choose to give it all up to save the remainder of his people. Then, Harald and the Rus could come to some mutual understanding while Ivar is put up as the puppet King in Kattegat.
Ragnar Lothbrok would be ashamed of his sons
We’ll have to wait to find out what happens, but one thing is certain: Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) would be ashamed at his sons battling it out for years when there’s so much promise and discovery in the world.
What happened to the Wessex plot? Will the Vikings ever return there? It would be a welcome change from war in Norway.
All in all, season 6 of Vikings has been interesting and has kept viewers on the edges of their seats. It’s been a welcome return to the earlier seasons. Hopefully episode 10 will bring some type of closure for Bjorn and his brothers, but it’s unlikely.
