‘Virgin River’: A Juicy Theory Suggests Brie May Have Shot Jack
Netflix‘s drama series Virgin River centers on Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) following her relocation to the small town from Los Angeles. Turning over a new leaf, she falls for Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), a retired Marine who owns the town’s bar. But their relationship isn’t one out of a fairytale. Jack is expecting twins with his ex-girlfriend Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), and for a small town, Virgin River has a ton of drama. At one point, Jack is even shot at his bar.
However, a new theory suggests Jack’s sister Brie (Zibby Allen) may have pulled the trigger.
Jack was shot in at the end of ‘Virgin River’ Season 2
At the end of season 2, Jack was at his bar when he was shot in the stomach. Mel found him bleeding on the ground shortly thereafter, and he was thankfully able to recover from his wound. However, over the course of season 3, he tried to remember who shot him. Though he remembered seeing Brady at some point, nothing else came back to him.
At the end of season 3, Detective Mike Valenzuela (Marco Grazzini), arrested Brady for shooting Jack. Though Brady and Jack aren’t friends anymore seems very unlikely that the former Marine would do something like this. Also, fans know, that Mike and Brady aren’t exactly friends and Mike is clearly hiding something very dark from the people around him. Some think it stems back from his time in Afghanistan.
A new fan theory suggests Brie shot Jack
Though Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) has been arrested for shooting Jack, an insane fan theory is swirling around that suggests Brie is the real shooter. As we know, Brie came into town at the top of season 3. She was looking to check on her big brother, but we later learned that she was also running from a horrific relationship and assault. However, fans think she is also tied to Jack’s shooting.
According to Express, fans are theorizing that Brie showed up at the bar after Jack and Brady’s altercation in hopes of surprising her brother. However, they believe that Jack inadvertently startled her and she shot him with the gun she’d been carrying for protection. Since it was very dark, Jack had no clue that his sister accidentally shot him.
While this theory is interesting, we highly doubt Brie would have left her brother bleeding on the floor.
Jack’s shooter will be revealed in ‘Virgin River’ Season 4
Though this theory does have some legs, we think it’s more plausible that someone like Calvin (David Cubit) shot Jack. After all, the former Marine had a real beef with the menacing drug dealer. Thankfully fans will learn who the real culprit is when Virgin River heads back to Netflix for season 4.
“The audience will be genuinely surprised at who’s behind all of it,” Virgin River showrunner Sue Tenney told TV Insider. She added, “If we get the actual reveal [in season 4], it would detail more of how this all was intertwined. The webbing of that story goes all the way back to the first season, so it’s a connective tissue that goes through four seasons.”
From what Tenney is hinting we’d say there is no way Brie could have shot her brother, even by accident.
