‘Wandavision’ Star Kathryn Hahn Does Tarot Card Readings in Real Life
Marvel’s new Disney+ TV series Wandavision has been making waves in recent months. The peculiar show features Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as superheroes Wanda and Vision, respectively, but also includes Kathyrn Hahn as Wanda’s neighbor Agnes (who has since been revealed to be Agatha Harkness).
Viewers have been extremely receptive to the show, with countless fan theories circulating the internet about each episode’s meaning. Fans were also very supportive of a 47-second song performed by Hahn that premiered on episode seven of Wandavison, titled “Agatha All Along.”
The song quickly shot to the top of the iTunes Top 100 singles chart, which was shocking to many, including Hahn. Regardless, she’s grateful that the show is being received so well.

Hahn shared her thoughts on the song’s incredible popularity during a recent interview with Seth Myers.
“Don’t understand it, I know, amazing,” Hahn said. “It’s amazing, it’s so crazy.”
Because Hahn has no social media presence, she was even more surprised by the news when it got to her.
“I was also like, what?” Hanh said. “I don’t have social media, so the whole thing was like filtered down through all this—I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ So funny.”
In Hahn’s opinion, the song’s popularity is a testament to the incredible songwriting ability of the show’s Academy Award-winning songwriters, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
“But also, like a testament to the Lopezes, who wrote that crazy, awesome, delicious 47-second—I mean the whole thing is so bonkers.”
She really loves her role in ‘Wandavision’
Aside from her singing ability, Hahn is admired by fans for her stellar performance as Agnes, who is revealed in episode seven to be the witch Agatha Harkness. Hahn herself couldn’t wait to join the Marvel universe.
“I think the metaphor of like, just like a powerful, complicated, mysterious, like terrifying woman is right up my alley, for sure,” Hanh said. “I don’t mind a tarot card every once in a while, I’m not gonna lie to you.”
The Marvel team had to walk her through her role a few times
When Hahn was first approached about her role, she had to go through an extensive, secretive process that laid out the entire Wandavision story.
“I mean, for this, I walked in—I mean, I was led into a conference room, like through various—it felt very—in my mind you had to use your thumbprint to get into certain—it was very, very inner—inner world,” Hahn said. “And then you opened the door to this conference room, and they had, like, all over the walls, basically the entire—the entire story. The entire series was like, laid out.”
Apparently, the show’s subject matter was so complex that Hahn had to have the premise explained to her multiple times.
“They had to walk me through it a couple times because I was a little bit of a newbie to this world,” Hahn said. “They’re very patient. But yeah, it was just … when I got to hear I was playing a powerful witch, I was like, ‘Yes!’ I was so excited. I was so thrilled.”
Her kids taught her about the Marvel universe
Hahn also admitted she had very little knowledge of the Marvel universe before joining the Wandavision cast. Thankfully, her kids were able to fill her in on all of the characters seen in recent Marvel productions.
“I was able to do a deep dive on Agatha Harkness, but I definitely needed a little bit of help with the Avengers and going backwards,” Hanh said. “Because it was a little bit of a word salad, walking into this. I couldn’t remember who is who and what was what. And so they were—my son especially was—like, a huge, huge help.”
