‘Welcome to Plathville’ Season 4 Exposes Cracks in the Relationships of TLC Series’ Key Couples

How did season 3 of ‘Welcome to Plathville’ end?
In the season 3 finale of TLC’s Welcome to Plathville, the prominent couples found they had hit bumps in their relationships.
Olivia and Ethan Plath moved to Tampa, Florida, to put even more distance between themselves and Ethan’s overbearing parents, Barry and Kim.
There, they attempted to carve out their own life.
Ethan learned to move away from the ultra-conservative lifestyle forced upon him and his siblings.
However, Olivia and Kim’s relationship continues to deteriorate and become strained.
Ethan’s sister Moriah Plath joined the couple and relocated.
Brother Micah took a leap of faith and abruptly moved to LA to further his modeling career.

In a season 4 teaser trailer, many family members experience growing pains, including the Plath patriarch and matriarch.
Kim admits to TLC’s cameras that she is not happy in her marriage.
She claims things are “different” now.
Husband Barry claims their life has been “rearranged.”
“All I know is I’ve been a mom, and I’ve been a wife. Now it’s time to be me,” Kim admits.
“Whether Kim is having a midlife crisis or not right now, she’s entering into that phase,” Barry deduced of his wife’s sudden change in behavior.
In the trailer, Plath son Micah shows off his new and exciting life in LA.
He says his new city is “huge” and different from life in Cairo.

It seems Olivia and Ethan continue to struggle in their young marriage.
Ethan tells his wife, “there’s going to be certain times when I go do stuff by myself, and that’s that.”
Olivia responds: “It’s like you’re trying to get rid of me.”
“I don’t know what he’s doing,” Olivia continues in a confessional. “He like has this little double life.”
In season 4, Kim appears to change her heart regarding her relationship with her oldest son and his wife.
She wants to reach out to them. However, Olivia feels as if she is “chained” to Ethan’s past.
As for Moriah, she faces that her romance with Max has taken a sad turn.
“Moriah’s the only person that knows exactly what happened,” regarding her relationship with Max, says Ethan in a confessional.
The new season begins on May 17.
