Wendy Williams Thinks Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Aren’t In Love
Wendy Williams is no stranger to making pretty big claims and controversial statements on her show, The Wendy Williams Show. In fact, it’s almost to be expected from her now. She’s faced quite a bit of backlash from viewers over the years, most recently for her statements about the LGBTQ+ community, as well as recent jokes about Joaquin Phoenix’s cleft lip, and Amie Harwick’s death. Now, Williams might be on the cusp of more backlash, this time from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West fans. Williams recently stated that she thinks there’s “no romance” in the famous couple’s relationship.
Wendy Williams mocks Joaquin Phoenix
Joquin Phoenix recently won the Golden Globe for Best Actor thanks to his performance in Joker, but that’s not what Wendy Williams wanted to focus on. The talk show host instead decided to discuss his physical appearance, especially his face.
Phoenix was born with a mild cleft lip, and as a result he has a small nonsurgical scar on his face. During William’s Hot Topic segment, she discussed Phoenix and his face. Wendy Williams commented, “When he shaves that off, and the way he looks at you. And he’s got that good nose, it dips way down. Like he’s happy with it. And when he shaves off his mustache he’s got a hairline fracture. He’s got one of those, what do you call that, cleft lip, cleft palate.”
Williams then hooked her finger under her upper lip and pulled it upwards to imitate a cleft lip. With her lip pulled up, she said, “He’s got this, he’s got this. No, I find it to be very attractive.”
Since this stunt, Williams has received public backlash, especially from Winnipeg Blue Bomber Adam Bighill, who was born with a cleft lip and palate, and whose son was born with the same. Bighill has since been calling for a public apology from Williams.
Wendy Williams faces backlash over Amie Harwick comment
However, Wendy Williams’ recent gaffes don’t end with the cleft lip debacle. Williams recently made an incredibly insensitive joke at the expense of Amie Harwick, the deceased ex-fiancée of Drew Carey.
Amie Harwick died just recently, and the case is still under investigation. One of the main suspects is her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, who has been arrested under one count of murder and another of first-degree residential burglary.
During a recent episode of The Wendy Williams Show, Williams discussed the details of Harwick’s death. However, she decided to throw in a joke that did not go over well, to say the least.
When discussing the death, she said, “She was killed not by Drew, but by the ex.” She then interrupted herself to imitate Drew Carey’s The Price Is Right catchphrase, saying, “Come on down!” She mimicked watching somebody fall from a height, and then looked at the floor. The audience gasped, and was not amused.
It seems like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were next on Wendy Williams’ list.
‘No romance’ in Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s relationship?
Now, Wendy Williams is making claims that there’s no romance in Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s relationship.
During a recent episode of her show, Williams featured a clip of Kanye West leaving Kim Kardashian behind in an elevator scrambling with bags before the door can close on her. Williams said of the video, ““You know I love Kim, and I love Kanye and the whole family. But, Kanye is being roasted for leaving Kim in an elevator with a whole bunch of bags. I see no romance in their relationship. Look at him!”
Williams added, “I’ve met five year olds who would help a woman with their bags and also push the elevator button and keep the elevator open.”
She also believes that the couple hams it up for the camera, telling the audience, “There [Kim and Kanye] are, and the only reason, to me, that they were kissing is because it was a glass elevator and probably the cameras. Come on like, ‘let’s stage this.’”
