Wendy Williams’ family drama is spilling over to the Hot Topics segment of her daytime talk show. After a few tumultuous years dealing with the fallout from her divorce, Williams and her brother are now embroiled in a public feud.
Williams’ brother accuses the media maven of not attending their mother’s funeral. As a result, Williams is sending her brother a warning to shut up or else she’ll expose his own secrets. During a recent taping, Williams made shady comments fans believe reference her brother’s sexuality.

Williams’ mother passed away at the end of 2020. It’s unclear what led to her death, but it was announced through the blog circuit. The talk show host addressed her mother’s passing during the Hot Topics segment of her show, saying that her mother passed “many, many weeks” before it was made public.
But Williams’ brother Tommy denied their mother died weeks before the public became aware. He said he was unaware of why Williams said so and believed she needed to take time out to grieve and heal.

Later, Tommy alleged in a video blog that Williams did not attend their mother’s funeral in Florida. He said Williams attended a memorial service ahead of the funeral and skipped to the funeral, claiming she was flying back to New York. Instead, Tommy alleged that Williams met with her ex-husband Kevin for lunch.
Per Tommy, Williams’s ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, attended the funeral service, which he says is admirable of him.

Amid Tommy’s video blog, Williams took time to directly address her brother during her talk show on Jan. 18.
“Tommy, let me tell you something right now. All you are is my brother. You better stop talking the way you’re talking, because now it’s dripping into my comment page,” she said.
Williams then made a threat to Tommy, saying she’d expose his own secrets.
“He’s pegging me to be a person I’m not. Honey, you don’t want me to start pegging you to be the person that you are, with full-blown receipts. I could fill the audience with receipts, with the leftovers all the way around the block… You don’t wanna talk about the things that I know about you, for sure.”
She also made a comment about her dress and asked Tommy if he likes it, which fans took as a dig at Tommy’s sexuality.
“If you want to talk on the internet then you talk about the things you think you know about yourself – you don’t wanna talk about the things that I know about you, for sure – By the way, do you like my dress, Tommy? He would like a dress like this,” Williams said.
Interestingly, in the upcoming documentary to air on Lifetime on Jan. 30 following her television biopic, Williams says that she and Tommy share a close relationship and have since they were children. It’s unclear when their rift began.

Tommy isn’t shutting up anytime soon. Following Williams’ comments, he released another video blog doubling down on his previous statements. This time, he slammed Williams for allegedly lying to their father about her whereabouts the day of the funeral.
“Our father didn’t even know you were in town for the viewing,” Tommy snaps. “You’re out eating lunch with your ex and your son, which wouldn’t be a problem I guess, if you had told your father that. He was hurt, he’s hurt Wendy. That’s why I’m here right now. It’s not fair, it’s not right, it’s painful. It’s painful for him, it’s painful for me, it’s painful for the family.”
Tommy also accuses Williams of being “empty” and “selfish.”
