And, according to Us Weekly, Her Majesty carries treats for her beloved Corgis, as well as mints, a fountain pen, family photos, reading glasses, lipstick, and a small mirror.
The Queen also carries a crisply folded £5 or £10 note to put in the church offering on Sundays, and she makes sure to have a portable hook with a suction cup so she can discreetly hang her purse underneath a table.
But, when it comes to Queen Elizabeth’s purse, it’s not just about what’s inside. The Monarch actually uses her purse to send signals to her staff. If she is at dinner and suddenly places her purse on the table, that means she will be leaving in five minutes. If she places it on the floor during a meeting, her staff knows that she is not enjoying the conversation and she is telling her lady-in-waiting to come to her rescue.

As a style icon who is photographed relentlessly when she is in public, Kate Middleton wants to make sure that she is always looking her best. When the Duchess of Cambridge is carrying a clutch, she makes sure to have lip balm, a handkerchief, and a compact so she can powder her nose.
If you are wondering why the Duchess of Cambridge is always carrying a clutch instead of a purse with handles, Beaumont Etiquette founder Myka Meier says she “holds her bag in front of her in both hands when shaking hands might be awkward.” According to royal protocol, Middleton must extend her hand first, so if she prefers to just smile instead of shaking hands, she uses her clutch to do that.
However, Middleton has recently switched from her famous clutch style to a handled-bag from British brand Aspinal of London.
“Kate always looks so feminine, elegant and chic,” says Mariya Dykalo, the brand’s creative director. “She’s worn our bag in two different colors now — I really liked the lilac version with the matching lilac outfit, it was so beautiful and feminine.”

Markle quickly became a style icon once her relationship with Prince Harry went public, and she broke tradition right away by wearing a crossbody clutch bag to a royal event.
