As a solo artist, Beyoncé achieved superstardom with her hit songs such as “Crazy In Love,” “Single Ladies,” “Halo,” and “Formation.”
Today, the singer is known as one of the music industry’s best-selling recording artists, having sold 118 million records worldwide. She is also the most awarded singer of all time, having won 28 Grammy Awards, 26 MTV Video Music Awards, 24 NAACP Image Awards, 31 BET Awards, and 17 Soul Train Music Awards.
Beyoncé smells like ‘cocoa butter and lemons’
Because she is a global phenomenon, fans have speculated what Beyoncé might possibly smell like.
While it would be easy to assume that she smells like happiness and sunshine like other celebrities, it turns out that Bey’s scent is a lot more simplistic.
Back in 2018, model Winnie Harlow appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she revealed that the iconic singer smells like “cocoa butter and lemons.”
While we would have suspected the Grammy winner smelling “like diamonds,” similar to Oprah Winfrey, we’re actually not that surprised that her signature scent is simple, yet sweet.
Beyoncé is allergic to most perfumes
Though she apparently smells like cocoa butter and lemons, Beyoncé does wear a few perfumes that are her go-to scents.
In addition to her own fragrance line, which she released in 2010, Bey also wears Emporio Armani Diamonds Intense, which she described as having a “soft, sweet, and comforting” smell.
Though she likes smelling nice, Beyoncé has to be careful when picking fragrances seeing as she’s allergic to most perfumes, according to ABC News. Even her own perfume line was chemically altered to ensure she didn’t have an allergic reaction.
Knowing this, it makes sense why Beyoncé’s scent is so simplistic.
