What Does Emily Blunt Think of ‘The Office’?
Emily Blunt is a Hollywood mainstay, and from her impressive resume, it seems directors and producers can’t help but want her in their movies. Blunt and her Jungle Cruise co-star Dwayne Johnson recently wrapped up filming the Disney film, which did well at the box office.
The Mouse was so impressed by the first movie that they decided to create a sequel for it. While promoting the new film, Blunt and Johnson answered some questions from their fans. One of the questions a fan asked The Devil Wears Prada star was her opinion about The Office. Here is what she had to say about the hit show.
Emily Blunt is married to a star of ‘The Office’
The Office follows the lives of the employees at the fictional Dunder Mifflin Scranton Branch, a printing press company that is barely staying alive. At the heart of the show is Michael Scott, played by Despicable Me star Steve Carell. Carell plays the manager of the printing firm who tries so hard to be funny, and his well-intended but wrongly aimed humor almost always manages to offend his coworkers.
The show also follows Rainn Wilson’s character Dwight Schrute, an uptight salesman obsessed with authority. Dwight is always involved in a cat-and-mouse game with his colleague Jim Halpert, played by Blunt’s husband, John Krasinski. Jim ends up in a will-they-won’t-they scenario with the firm’s receptionist Pam Beesly portrayed by Jenna Fischer.
The show takes a mockumentary format where the characters typically have confessions detailing the goings-on in the office. At the time of his audition, Krasinski had not appeared in various productions, and his role as the wittingly funny Jim in The Office helped propel him to unimaginable fame.
After The Office ended in 2013, Krasinski landed more roles, such as in Big Miracle, Nobody Walks and was also up to play Captain America in Captain America: The First Avenger. He and his wife Blunt met and started dating in 2008 and got engaged the following year. The pair got married in 2010, with the ceremony taking place at George Clooney’s former home.
Blunt loves ‘The Office’
Blunt and Johnson went on an interview with Wired and participated in their Web’s Most Searched Questions segment to promote the Jungle Cruise movie that recently came out. When a curious fan wanted to know Blunt’s thoughts on The Office, the actor enthusiastically admitted that she loves the show.
She said, “I loved The Office. I have watched every episode, and I see why it’s that show that just keeps going and going,” The star even got her Jungle Cruise co-star involved in her response as the pair joked about the various aspects of the series they each found interesting.
This isn’t the first time Blunt has spoken up about the hit TV show. In July, the actor went on Live with Kelly and Ryan, where the hosts asked her if she preferred the British or the American versions of the hit show. Blunt admitted that before she met her husband, she had never watched a single episode of The Office.
She, however, confessed that the two shows were different in their own ways. When pressed for the answer, the Edge of Tomorrow actor blurted out that the American version of The Office was her favorite.
Blunt is an all-round actor
Blunt began her acting career in 2001 with The Royal Family. She then followed it up with appearances in Gideon’s Daughter and My Summer of Love. However, her breakthrough didn’t come until she appeared in the comedy film The Devil Wears Prada alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
The role garnered the star considerable attention, and she began getting more parts. Since then, Blunt has appeared in several movies, including Mary Poppins Returns, The Adjustment Bureau, Looper, and Sicario.
