It’s been a while since we have heard from former talk show host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Just a few years ago, it seemed like the Nashville resident was heading on an upward career trajectory. Then suddenly, it seemed that she disappeared.

To fans that didn’t frequently follow Hasselbeck’s most recent show, Fox and Friends, it can be easy to wonder where the star went. But those who regularly tuned into the show know that Hasselbeck made the decision to walk away from the show in 2015.

Now, the Rhode Island native is back in the spotlight. What has she been up to and what is she doing now?

Hasselbeck left the spotlight in 2015

Back in 2015, Hasselbeck was a popular co-host on the Fox News Channel morning show, Fox and Friends. The news host seemed to be on top of her game and geared to make it big in the business. But on November 24, 2015, Hasselbeck announced that she would be leaving the show.

Through tears, she told her co-hosts that she needed to spend more time with her family. The time that she was currently showing on the morning show needed to be devoted to helping her children get ready for school. She told the hosts whom she called family, “I’m in a season where the kids need the best of me, not the rest of me.”

She followed God to Tennessee

In a just-released interview, Hasselbeck told her former Fox and Friends co-hosts that she followed God to Tennessee. She said that Nashville has been really good to her family. In her time away from the show, the mother of three has spent her time juggling sports schedules and being what she calls the CBO, or Chief Breakfast Officer.

The former View host is enjoying her time with her children. She returned to The View to promote her book and told the panel, “I think the coolest thing is just letting them be who they are. You’re kind of like shepherding them but you’re seeing all their gifts come to fruition and that’s great.”

Hasselbeck has three children with former NFL player Tim Hasselbeck, whom she married in 2002. The couple met when they were both attending Boston College, Tim a star football player and Elisabeth a standout softball player. The two welcomed a daughter, Grace Elisabeth in 2005. The couple welcomed their first son, Taylor Thomas in 2007, and another son, Isaiah Timothy in 2009.

She is still staying busy

Hasselbeck released her second book, “Point of View, A Fresh Look at Work, Faith, and Freedom” on March 26, 2019. The book is a memoir of Hasselbeck’s life and experiences and what she has learned along the way.

The book is already getting attention for details that Hasselbeck has revealed about her past TV gigs, especially her time on The View. Many online sites have noted that the author praised all of her former co-hosts except for Rosie O’Donnell, who is now in the news for saying she had a crush on Hasselbeck.

Hasselbeck opened up that she felt shocked and betrayed over her firing from The View. She reveals that she was told that she was too political and spent 90 minutes in her dressing room just crying over her termination. At the time, she admits, that she would have done anything to keep her job.

“Point of View” is Hasselbeck’s second book. In 2009, Hasselbeck released the book “The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide” after revealing that she suffered from Celiac Disease. In 2011, Hasselbeck created a gluten-free line of products called NoGii.
