What Is Kanye West Really Like as a Dad?

There was once a time Kanye West‘s life was entirely centered around music, but now that he’s a father of four, the rapper lives and breathes his children.

While West doesn’t willingly give fans an inside look into his family life, we’ve gotten small snippets of how he interacts with his kids on a daily basis and are impressed with what we’ve seen so far.

He enjoys being a hands-on parent

Being one of the most influential rappers in the world, West is always busy making new music and collaborating on albums with other well-known artists.

In addition to all of this, he also leads his weekly Sunday Services, which we can only imagine the amount of planning and rehearsal time that goes into it.

Though the rapper’s schedule is usually jam-packed with work obligations, he always makes time for his family and refuses to let his career take him away from his children.

Though West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, both have demanding schedules, family time means everything to them.

Despite it being a little harder to balance their careers now that they’re the parents of four young children, the couple makes it work — especially since they’d rather they raise their kids instead of someone else.

While appearing on a September 2019 episode of The View, Kardashian West opened up about her and West’s lives as parents.

Though raising four kids under the age of six is a challenge in its self, the reality star revealed that she and her husband work together and have developed a pretty solid parenting system.

The Skims founder even shared that West has been on a “no-help” kick lately and hasn’t been looking to her or the staff for help with the kids.

“I can’t even begin to tell you what getting ready in the morning is like,” she shared. “I do [have help] and I love everyone that has been so helpful, but my husband is on this no-help kick so I’m… like, ‘OK, then you try the morning,’ and I’ll see my daughter with hair out to here. I think he gets it a little bit.”

Even before he and Kardashian were parents to four babies, the reality star would gush about how hands-on West was when it came to parenting.

While appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show shortly after giving birth to their daughter, North, Kardashian said, “He is honestly the most amazing dad; he loves her so much.”

She added, “He really is a hands-on dad.”

West enjoys learning as he goes

Since he’s been in the parenting game for the past six years, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to assume that West has learned a lot about being a dad over the years.

From how to change a diaper in record time to learning how not to have his career interfere with time spent with his kids, the rapper has become a pro at parenting.

However, now that he has a six-year-old daughter on his hands, West is now learning how to deal with her growing up right before his eyes.

“I think he had it, he changed all the rules,” Kardashian previously told E! News. “I’d let her wear, you know, she has a little red for Christmas, I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something. I’d let her, if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip.

All in all, West appears to be an amazing dad who would move mountains for his four kids.

Though parenting is a tough job, the rapper is getting the hang of life with four little ones and has fully embraced all that comes with being a hands-on dad.
