Today, Pam Dawber has shied away from TV and cinema — making brief appearances in projects that call to her. Pam Dawber chose to step back from Hollywood soon after tying the knot with NCIS star Mark Harmon. She has explained multiple times why she felt the choice was necessary; she has argued that two people operating in showbiz simultaneously could struggle to raise kids. Balancing a work and personal life isn’t easy, and a constant spotlight on both parents doesn’t help.

Years before settling down with Mark Harmon and raising a family, the actress boasted quite the TV and film career, leading to a rather impressive net worth and stacked portfolio in a short amount of time.

Pam Dawber’s net worth and early years

According to CelebrityNetWorth, Pam Dawber is worth an estimated $10 million, yet she didn’t get there overnight. Pam Dawber was born in Detroit Michigan, before going on to attend Oakland Community College. Yet she left her hometown life beyond to pursue a career in modeling in NYC — which would open the door to the screen opportunities she is most famous for today.

After a bit of modeling, Pam Dawber shifted her attention and began to focus on building an acting career. Before her big breakthrough role in Mork & Mindy, Pam Dawber was a virtual unknown.

Inside Pam Dawber’s most memorable role in ‘Mork & Mindy’

Pam Dawber is best known for starring opposite Robin Williams in the hit comedy Mork & Mindy — a Happy Days spinoff. Mork & Mindy followed an alien from the planet Ork (Robin Williams) on a mission to study the earth and its inhabitants’ behaviors. He syncs up with aspiring journalist, Mindy, and the two go on to find themselves wrapped up in various humorous shenanigans.

When Robin Williams’ character reports back to his home planet, laughs always ensue. The show ran for four seasons from 1978 to 1982 and proved to be a catalyst for Dawber’s career.

Pam Dawber did more than ‘Mork & Mindy’

Though most remembered for Mork & Mindy, Dawber appeared in a handful of other productions — shows, TV movies, and blockbuster roles alike! You may remember Pam Dawber from the 1992 film Stay Tuned.

Though the film was a bit of a critical flop, it followed a husband and wife, trapped inside “Hellvision” — after the husband buys a satellite dish offering 666 channels. The two must work on their marriage while trapped, coming to rediscover the love and passion that faded throughout the years.
