What Is the Age Difference Between Tony Bennett and His Much-Younger Wife, Susan Crow?
Tony Bennett is known for his incredible music contributions in his lifetime. And he’s had quite a few notable relationships, too. Bennett’s been married three times, and he’s still with his wife, Susan Crow, whom he married back in 2007. But there’s quite an age difference between them. Here’s what it is.
Tony Bennett has been married 3 times
Bennett’s currently 94 years old, and he’s gone through three marriages. His first marriage was to Patricia Beech. The two married in 1952, but Beech was unsure of her relationship with Bennett after accusing him of infidelity. The two separated in 1971, which was the same year Bennett moved on with Sandra Grant. The two tied the knot that year after reportedly meeting at a pool party at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Unfortunately, the couple couldn’t make things work. They reportedly separated after about a decade, and they finally legally divorced in 2007. Grant later talked to Page Six about her divorce, as she was very glad to be officially finished with the marriage.
“Thank God, my divorce papers are finalized with Tony after all these years. I was not legally divorced until just a few months ago,” Grant told Page Six. “The Tony I knew is not the same smiley Mr. Nice Guy the world knows.”
Tony Bennett joked he met Susan Crow when she was in the womb
Bennett’s first two marriages didn’t work out, but things are going strong with Crow. Crow met Bennett after a concert of his in the ’80s, Closer Weekly reports. She was a huge fan of Bennett and was named the president of his fan club. And as soon as they met for the first time, sparks flew — though their age difference was very apparent. Crow was 19 and Bennett was about 40 years older than her.
Today, Bennett is 94 years old, and Crow is 54. And Bennett’s since made jokes about how he first met Crow when she was in the womb. According to Entertainment Tonight, Bennett wrote in his memoir, Just Getting Started, about a time when he met Crow’s parents in the ’60s.
“As fate would have it, Marion was pregnant at the time with … Susan!” Bennett wrote. “It’s a photo we all laugh about [now], knowing the incredible turn of events that followed.”
Bennett and Crow are quite aware of their age difference, too. “I can’t say that we didn’t notice the age difference when we first met,” he wrote. “But I can say that after all of these years together. We don’t notice it much now. We’re compatible in all ways.”
Tony Bennett and Susan Crow are still going strong today
Bennett and Crow have been married since 2007, and they’re still going strong today. Back in September 2020, Bennett wrote a sweet Instagram post dedicated to Crow, and he also admitted one of his songs was written to commemorate his love for her.
“Today my wonderful wife Susan celebrates her birthday!” Bennett posted. “She makes my life better in every way, and I owe so much to her. Susan inspired the lyrics I wrote for ‘All For You,’ and I once again dedicate this song to her today.”
Back in June 2020, Bennett added another sweet photo of him and Crow for their anniversary. “Today my incredible wife Susan and I celebrate our wedding anniversary!” he captioned the post. “In celebration, please enjoy this collection of some of my favorite love songs, dedicated to her. May it accompany you and your loved ones as well.”
We’re wishing Bennett and Crow the very best!
