Spider-Man: No Way Home is the most exciting movie release of the year. And with the holiday break nearing, families who want to bring their kids to see the Marvel film might want to know the age rating.

What’s the ‘Spider-Man: No Way’ Home age rating?

Spider-Man: No Way Home is rated PG-13. According to the Motion Picture Association’s age rating system, a PG-13 rating means parents are strongly cautioned because some material could be inappropriate for young children.

For reference, the last two Spider-Man films, Homecoming and Far From Home, were also rated PG-13. Like its prequels, the new movie will not contain nudity or sexual content. But it may feature characters and scenes that could be frightening for some tiny tots.

We know that the movie will feature three villains that may look a little scary. Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus has robotic arms that feature pincers he uses to hurt people. Jamie Foxx’s Electro manipulates electricity to attack. And Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin has a scary face and sinister laugh.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ may feature mild language

Similar to the earlier films, Spider-Man: No Way Home may feature some mild language. As reported by Common Sense Media, the film includes someone using the phrase, “What the ffff?” And some characters use the words “s**t,” “ass,” “butt,” and “damn.”

The outlet also reported that the movie contains a slightly suggestive scene in which Tom Holland is shirtless. And there are moments in the film in which characters kiss.

Tom Holland says the movie features a few violent fight scenes

Spider-Man: No Way Home throws several villains at Peter Parker. And as the superhero, he fights them until they are no longer a threat.

The last two Spider-Man movies featured action-packed fight scenes. But Holland recently told TV Globo that the new film took a darker, grittier approach to its fights. And as a result, it contains some graphic battles.

“There are some fight scenes in this movie that are very violent,” Holland told the outlet. “And it’s a fighting style different from what we’ve seen before. But really, you will get to see Spider-Man using his fists in a fight or flight situation.”

According to Common Sense Media, the violence in the film includes characters getting thrown and whipped around. There are some dangerous falls, a few loud explosions. And some characters are choked, punched, and kicked.

The outlet also noted that the movie features some gun violence, destruction, and a jump-scare. A few characters end up with bloody scrapes and cuts. And while the heroes attempt to kill some of the film’s villains, one main character dies.

Armed with these details, families can make an informed decision on whether or not the film is appropriate for their kids. Spider-Man: No Way Home opens in theaters on Thursday, Dec. 16, and Friday, Dec. 17. Check local listings for schedules and timings.
