What ‘TFATWS’ Stars Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie Want From Each Other
Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie currently star opposite each other in the Disney+ original series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In the show, they boast quite the humorously combative dynamic; they will make sure the other person doesn’t die, but not without pushing each other’s buttons. And, based on various interviews — some during which Mackie labeled Stan “boring” — it seems like their real-life dynamic echoes the show.
While on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Stan and Mackie discussed what they want from each other, leading to a great deal of laughter. So, what is it that these two yearn for in their friendship?
Sebastian Stan says Anthony Mackie ‘won’t share his soft side’
While visiting Clarkson to promote their new show, the “Because of You” singer asked, “what’s one thing about the other person that drives you nuts?” She started with Stan and requested brutal honesty. Stan said:
“That Anthony won’t share his soft side with me, or the world, as much as I wish that he did. Because, there is a big, big soft side behind that mountain [Clarkson laughs], and I’ve seen it. I’ve seen it sometimes. It comes out.”

Clarkson is quick to note that she “loves that,” while Mackie jumps in to defend himself, noting that he shares his “soft side” with Stan “all the time.” Mackie then went on to reveal what he wants from Stan.

Mackie told Clarkson that Stan is a “hermit,” explaining:
“He’s always isolated. I want him all to myself, all the time. And, he won’t let me have him. I just want to go out and do stuff together. I want to go to restaurants together. I want to go fishing together. I want us to be besties that hang out, and he won’t hang out with me, because he’s so into himself.”

Clarkson proceeded to laugh out loud, as Stan used his hand to cover his face and lower his head in shame (while smiling). Clarkson exclaimed “this is my favorite interview,” as they all continued to laugh at Mackie’s brutally funny response. She then told Stan that Mackie is “trying to get a bromance going” and he’s “letting him down.”
In the end, Stan wants Mackie to open up, and Mackie wants Stan to hang out with him. Could they be more adorable co-stars?
