Avengers: Endgame tied a lot of the loose ends from Avengers: Infinity War. The “dusted” Avengers were brought back to defeat Thanos. Additionally, Gamora from 2014 was brought back. She’s a little confused, but she’s a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy once again. What happened to her at the end of Endgame, however, is still unclear to fans. A newly released deleted scene gave fans a few hints regarding her fate. Here’s what we know about Gamora and the deleted scene from Avengers: Endgame.

They saved the universe (again.) Together with the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy defeated Thanos and brought back a few of the fallen heroes. That includes Gamora, who Thanos threw over a cliff in Avengers: Infinity War. Well, kind of. This new-old Gamora doesn’t remember Peter Quill, Groot, Rocket, or the rest of the Avengers. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Gamora walks away from the Guardians of the Galaxy.
After his dramatic weight gain and with his newfound love for video games, Thor joins the Guardians of the Galaxy on their newest quest. What is that quest exactly? For Peter Quill, it means finding the love of his life, Gamora. Thanks to a deleted scene in Avengers: Endgame, fans get a better clue regarding what happened to her character.
Fans on Twitter noticed Gamora walks away at the end of ‘Avengers: Endgame’
It was pretty clear from the final scenes that Gamora, feeling lost and confused, doesn’t join the rest of the Guardians on their newest adventure. In the deleted scene from Avengers: Endgame, viewers saw the heroes taking a knee for Tony Stark.
Viewers then see Gamora, still confused, walking away from the rest of the Avengers. Marvel fans were split regarding the exclusion of this clip, some saying it helped clarify what happened to Gamora.
“I’m sorry but this had to be in the movie. Seriously what was the point of leaving it out? It was like an extra 45 seconds. And it also shows that they were all there together and gives a sense of setting for the scene. It also shows what happens to Gamora,” said one Twitter user.
Since fans saw Gamora walked off in the deleted scene, some viewers are left wondering what the Guardians of the Galaxy will do to get her back. Others are left wondering when the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie will premiere.
When will Marvel release ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’?
At ComiCon, Marvel released a few details about the upcoming Marvel movies and television series. That includes an origin story about Black Widow starring Scarlett Johansson, a television show on Disney Plus about Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Thor: Love and Thunder starring Natalie Portman.
Marvel also announced sequels to movies like Black Panther and Captain Marvel at ComiCon. However, those movies won’t come until the next phase of Marvel movies, presumably after 2021. That includes the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Until then, fans are left to speculate what happened to Gamora, Thor, Star-Lord, and the rest of the gang.
“It’s a powerful scene, but Star-Lord saying he’s going to search for Gamora does the same thing. Also, this scene and the funeral by the lake would’ve been a bit much. I think the directors made the right choice,” said one Twitter user. “The film doesn’t drag its feet, and we have a cool deleted scene.”
