Amazon Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time is becoming the next big fantasy TV series, and it’s easy to see why. Based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling books, the show is building a world with as much scale as The Lord of the Rings or Game of Thronesand as much potential. Sadly, it’s already nearing the end of its first season. When does The Wheel of Time Episode 6 come out, and what can fans expect when it arrives?

The Wheel of Time Episode 5 turned up the pressure for its main characters, especially those from the Two Rivers. Although Rand (Josha Stradowski) and Mat (Barney Harris) finally reunite with Nynaeve (Zoë Robins), Mat’s mysterious ailment continues to worsen. That’s not to mention the Aes Sedai are scheming to determine which faction will take Nynaeve in — despite the fact that she remains skeptical of the organization as a whole.

Egwene (Madeleine Madden) and Perrin (Marcus Rutherford) have a worse time of it, running into the Children of the Light and barely escaping the encounter with their lives. They still haven’t reached the White Tower, but they’d better pick up the pace. After both of them channeled — and left behind a camp full of dead Whitecloaks — it’s only a matter of time before they have another unpleasant run-in.

Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and Lan (Daniel Henney) are still reeling from episode 4’s battle, and their grief will continue into The Wheel of Time Episode 6. The newest installment concludes with Stepin (Peter Franzén) taking his own life, following the death of his Aes Sedai in episode 4. Naturally, the White Tower is shaken by the development.

When do new episodes of ‘The Wheel of Time’ come out?

The Wheel of Time ended its most recent installment on a note of grief, but it also raised plenty of questions heading into episode 6. It’s unclear what the Aes Sedai plan to do once the group from the Two Rivers reaches the White Tower. However, given their differing perspectives on just about everything, it’s probably safe to assume more drama and scheming will accompany their arrival.

So, when can fans expect a new episode of Amazon’s The Wheel of Time TV series? The official release date for each installment is every Friday, though Amazon drops content at 12 a.m. GMT. That places their arrival on Thursday in certain time zones.

Per Decider, here’s when fans can expect the next three episodes of The Wheel of Time, which will round out season 1:

  • Episode 6 – Dec. 10
  • Episode 7 – Dec. 17
  • Episode 8 – Dec. 24

Now that we know the release date and time for The Wheel of Time Episode 6, what can fans expect from it?

As far as what viewers can expect from The Wheel of Time Episode 6, it sounds as though the characters will have their hands full yet again. Per IMDb, the upcoming installment is called “The Flame of Tar Valon.” Its synopsis reads:

“Moiraine faces the consequences of her actions. Mat faces the darkness in himself. Egwene faces the most powerful woman in the world.”

The first sentence suggests there will, indeed, be more political posturing within the White Tower. That was expected, though it’ll be interesting to see why Moiraine is in the hot seat.

Mat and Egwene’s storylines promise to shed more light on their connections to the One Power. Perhaps viewers will get some answers about who the real Dragon Reborn is — though with two more episodes and a second season on the horizon, the show might keep that reveal under wraps a little longer.

The first five episodes of The Wheel of Time are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
