‘The Wheel of Time’ Episode 6 introduces the Eye of the World

The Wheel of Time Episode 6 spends much of its runtime focused on Moiraine and the White Tower. When the Amyrlin Seat appears to judge what happened while the Aes Sedai were away, Moiraine gets called out for hiding things from her sisters. And although it soon becomes clear that Siuan (Sophie Okonedo) knows what Moiraine has been up to, she’s forced to make a choice: hide their plan from the others and punish Moiraine or put everything in jeopardy.

To prevent their plans from failing, Siuan winds up exiling Moiraine from the White Tower, an emotional moment given their attachment to one another. Pike’s character won’t be able to return to her sisters until Siuan calls her back. And after what happens at the end of the episode, there’s no telling if Moiraine will find her way home.

The Wheel of Time leads into episode 7 by having Moiraine, Lan (Daniel Henney), and the children from the Two Rivers enter the Ways, a series of paths outside of time and space that leads to where the Dark One is imprisoned. Moiraine hopes to have the Dragon Reborn confront him at the Eye of the World, stopping his rise before it’s too late.

Of course, the Aes Sedai has no idea what might happen to the rest of them on this dangerous journey. And as the episode closes, Mat (Barney Harris) turns on the rest of them, staying behind as the portal to The Ways closes.

According to IMDb, The Wheel of Time Episode 7 will be titled “The Dark Along the Ways.” Although the synopsis for the installment isn’t currently available, it’s not hard to guess where the show might take its characters. The Ways sounds like a pretty treacherous series of paths, and things are sure to get weird. According to Rosamund Pike, fans could also see some new worlds.

During an interview with TVLine, Pike teased the seventh episode as one of her favorites, revealing:

“Episode 7 is maybe my favorite. We’re going to enter at least four worlds you’ve never seen yet in the show. You can guess what one is by the end of Episode 6.”

As for Mat, he might try trekking his way back to the Two Rivers — though the Children of the Light aren’t likely to make that easy for him. Could he regret leaving Moiraine and his friends later on? There’s only one way to find out: by tuning in for next week’s episode.
