‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 8, Episode 6 Promo Trailer: Is Elizabeth Ready to Love Again?
Is Elizabeth having second thoughts? Her relationship with Lucas was heating up in the March 21 episode of When Calls the Heart, with the suave saloon owner treating her to romantic candlelit dinner. While a promo trailer for the upcoming March 28 episode teases a Lucas-Elizabeth kiss, it also hints that the Mountie isn’t out of the picture just yet, despite Elizabeth’s rejection of him earlier this season.
Allie quizzes Nathan about his feelings for Elizabeth in the next episode of ‘When Calls the Heart’
Things have been tense between Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry) ever since their uncomfortable conversation in episode 2. That’s when she told him she wasn’t interested in him romantically, in part because she didn’t want to lose anyone like she had her husband Jack.
In the trailer for “No Regrets,” Nathan’s niece Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller) teases her uncle about his feelings for Elizabeth. “Do you still like Mrs. Thornton?” she asks.
“Sure, yeah,” he replies. But Allie isn’t about to let him weasel out of an answer. “I mean, do you like like her,” she says.
We also see Elizabeth happen upon Nathan and Allie while horseback riding. Allie — playing matchmaker, it seems — asks her teacher if she wants to go riding with them. Elizabeth hesitates, while Nathan looks away.
Elizabeth and Lucas go on a picnic
The preview also teases a second date for Elizabeth and Lucas (Chris McNally).
“I’m really enjoying myself with Lucas,” Elizabeth tells her best friend Rosemary (Pascale Hutton).
Elizabeth and Lucas head out of town for a picnic, but a rainstorm threatens to ruin the day. The two take shelter in his car, where Lucas leans in for a kiss. Elizabeth looks nervous as he makes his move — which is understandable, as she hasn’t kissed anyone since her husband Jack’s death. Will she pull away or embrace her feelings for Lucas?
Minnie and Elizabeth find a special book for Angela
An extended teaser for the episode also shows Elizabeth making progress in her efforts to teach Angela (Vienna Leacock), who is blind.
Elizabeth has, with some help from her sister Julie in Hamilton, managed to get her hands on a book written in Braille — a rare commodity on the Canadian frontier.
“We’ve been trying to find Angela a text for months, so I could learn,” her mother Minnie (Natasha Burnett) says.
Together, the two women hope to teach Angela how to read the language, and Elizabeth reveals she’s working on having additional books sent to Hope Valley for Angela.
The next episode of When Calls the Heart airs Sunday, March 28 at 9 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel.
