‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 9: Premiere Date and Time, Plus How to Watch
It’s almost time to go back to Hope Valley. A new season of When Calls the Heart premieres in early March on Hallmark Channel. Here’s everything fans need to know about when the new episodes air, how to watch, and where to catch up on past seasons of the show.
‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 9 premieres March 6
When Calls the Heart Season 9 premieres Sunday, March 6 at 8 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel. The new season will have 12 hour-long episodes, which will air on Sunday nights through May 22.
The new season picks up several months after the end of season 8, when Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) finally made a choice between the two men fighting for her heart: Mountie Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and businessman Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally). In the finale’s finale minutes, she chose Lucas, and the two shared a passionate kiss on a bridge outside of town.
How to watch the new season of ‘When Calls the Heart’
When Calls the Heart airs exclusively on Hallmark Channel. Those who don’t have cable can find the channel on several live TV streaming services, including Frndly TV, Sling TV, YouTubeTV, Philo, and Fubo TV. New episodes should also be available for purchase on Amazon, iTunes, and Vudu.
Want to catch up on earlier seasons of When Calls the Heart? Currently, all eight past seasons of the show are available to stream on Hallmark’s app, Hallmark Movies Now.
What to expect from the new episodes
When Calls the Heart Season 9’s premiere is titled “In Like a Lion.” In the episode, Elizabeth returns to Hope Valley after having spent some time visiting her family in Hamilton. She reunites with Lucas and the two embark on their courtship, as McNally explained in a behind-the-scenes video for Hallmark Channel. Meanwhile, Lucas discusses the oil business with an investor from out of town and everyone prepares for the upcoming mayoral election and the construction of the new foundry.
In episode 2, titled “Out Like a Lamb,” Hope Valley’s citizens cast their ballots for mayor, and the race is so close that a recount is required. Elizabeth and Lucas also work to find the “little moments” in their relationship, and Nathan is involved in a hit-and-run that leads to newcomer Mei Suo (Amanda Wong) connecting with his horse Newton.
As for what’s in store for the rest of the season, Hearties will just have to wait and see. But fans can expect excitement – and plenty of romance – when the show returns, as well as new characters and storylines.
“Love is in the air,” Pascale Hutton, who plays Rosemary Coulter, told Hallmark Channel. “There’s new love, there’s young love, there’s newlywed love, there’s mature love. Love. Love is what is happening. That is the storyline for this season.”
