TL;DR:

- Star Erin Krakow says she is “thrilled” the show will return.
- Lindsey Sturman will take over as showrunner in the new season.
Hearties can breathe a sigh of relief. Hallmark Channel has renewed When Calls the Heart for season 10. The news comes one month after the season 9 finale of the popular frontier drama, which featured Lucas (Chris McNally) asking for Elizabeth’s (Erin Krakow) hand in marriage.
‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 10 is coming to Hallmark Channel
In the past, Hallmark Channel has announced a new season of When Calls the Heart during the season finale broadcast. But season 9’s last episode came and went without a renewal announcement. That left some fans nervous about the show’s future, especially because the network’s two other scripted series, Chesapeake Shores and Good Witch, were recently canceled.
Fortunately, viewers won’t have to say goodbye to Hope Valley just yet. When Calls the Heart will return for season 10, Hallmark announced on June 17. Lindsey Sturman will serve as the new showrunner, Deadline reported.
Erin Krakow, other cast members react to renewal news
Several When Calls the Heart cast members reacted to the renewal news on social media.
Krakow shared a photo of herself, Ben Rosenbaum, Kevin McGarry, and Kayla Wallace on Twitter. “Celebrating the great S10 news from Italy! We’re thrilled!!!,” she wrote. McGarry – who plays Mountie Nathan Grant – shared the same photo on Instagram, along with the caption “Mama Mia, here we go again!”
“Looking *forward* to all the stories we get to tell in SEASON 10 of @wcth_tv!” wrote Andrea Brooks on Instagram. “Thank you @hallmarkchannel, the entire team, and to all the #hearties for tuning in for the past… decade(‼️). Can’t wait to get back to Hope Valley. Let’s do this! 💚 xox.” Brooks plays Dr. Faith Carter on the show.
Hallmark says there are ‘many more stories’ to tell in Hope Valley
When Calls the Heart Season 9 ended with Lucas and Elizabeth’s engagement and the news that Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Lee (Kavan Smith) were expecting their first child. Henry Gowen (Martin Cummins) was also behind bars following his sabotage of the coal mine.
While we don’t yet have specific details about what’s in store for Hope Valley in season 10, Hallmark promises that there’s plenty to look forward to when the show returns.
“When Calls the Heart continues to push the limits as to what we can achieve with this show,” Lisa Hamilton Daly, executive vice president, programming, Crown Media Family Networks, said in a statement. “There are many more stories still to be told about the lives of the beloved characters in this series and we cannot wait for everyone at home to tune in to see what unfolds.”
