‘When Calls the Heart’ Stars Visit the Empire State Building [Photos]
That’s not a view you’ll see in Hope Valley! When Calls the Heart stars Erin Krakow and Kevin McGarry recently paid a visit to one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks.
The Hallmark Channel actors visited the Empire State Building on June 12, where they posed for photos with the Manhattan skyline in the background.
Krakow has played schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton on the frontier period drama since it premiered in 2014. McGarry joined the show’s cast in season 6 as Mountie Nathan Grant. The show’s 11th season wraps up on June 23, and it’s already confirmed to return for season 12.
Krakow, wearing an adorable polka-dot dress, was all smiles as she and McGarry visited the Empire State Building’s famous 86th floor open-air observation deck.
McGarry and Krakow also posed for a photo between a pair of statues representing the workers who built the Empire State Building, which opened in 1931.
On his Instagram Story, McGarry also shared a snap of his fiance (and former When Calls the Heart cast member) Kayla Wallace enjoying a meal on a terrace overlooking NYC’s Central Park.
The latest season of When Calls the Heart has focused heavily on Elizabeth and Nathan’s slow-burn romance. In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Krakow described the pair as “soulmates”
McGarry agreed that Elizabeth and Nathan were meant to be, calling them “endgame.” He hinted that fans would see some progress in their relationship by the season 11 finale.
“I think it’s pretty clear at the end of the season,” he said.
While Elizabeth and Nathan seem to be headed to a happily ever after, some When Calls the Heart fans are still smarting over what happened at the end of season 10, when Elizabeth broke things off with her fiance Lucas (Chris McNally). In season 8, Elizabeth had rejected Nathan in favor of Lucas, and the abrupt shift in her affections left some viewers stunned.
“It’s been incredible to see how passionate our fans have been in supporting their favorite boyfriend,” Krakow said in an interview with AM Northwest when asked about the Team Nathan-Team Lucas rivalry.
“But it’s hard to see the ways that it divides our fanbase, who have been so incredible and so supportive over the years,” she added. “We hope they all feel like there’s something for their favorite character, because we’ve worked really hard in season 11 to make sure that every character feels honored in some way.”
When Calls the Heart Season 11 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.
