Here’s When ‘NCIS,’ ‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Matlock,’ and Your Other Favorite Shows Return in 2025
New year, new shows! The midseason schedules for NBC, CBS, ABC, and Fox are stacked with new and returning shows, including the season 2 premiere of NCIS: Sydney and the series finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star on Fox. Keep reading to find out premiere dates for your favorite network comedies and dramas.
NBC’s midseason lineup includes ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘Happy’s Place,’ plus ‘Suits LA’ premieres
NBC kicks off 2025 with the return of Reba McEntire in Happy’s Place on Jan. 3 at 8 p.m., followed by Lopez vs. Lopez at 8:30.
New medical drama Brilliant Minds, which stars Zachary Quinto, is back on Jan. 6 at 10 p.m.
The Irrational returns on Jan. 7 at 10 p.m.
Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. premiere Jan. 8 starting at 8 p.m.
St. Denis Medical and Night Court return on Jan. 14 starting at 8 p.m.
New episodes of Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Found begin airing on Jan. 16, starting at 8 p.m.
Three new shows are also coming to NBC in the new year. The Hunting Party premieres Feb. 3 at 10 p.m. Suits spinoff Suits LA debuts on Feb. 23 at 9 p.m., followed by Grosse Point Garden Society at 10 p.m.
‘NCIS,’ ‘NCIS: Origins,’ and ‘NCIS: Sydney’ are back on CBS
CBS viewers will have to wait until the end of January for new episodes of their favorite shows.
Monday, Jan. 27 brings the return of The Neighborhood at 8 p.m., followed by Poppa’s House at 8:30. NCIS and NCIS: Origins will air at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., respectively.
The FBI shows – FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted – have their midseason premieres on Jan. 28 starting at 8 p.m.
Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriages is back on Jan. 30 at 8 p.m., followed by Ghosts at 8:30 p.m. Kathy Bates returns as Madeline Matlock in Matlock at 9 p.m., with Elsbeth at 10 p.m.
NCIS: Sydney Season 2 premieres Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. Fire Country airs at 9 p.m. S.W.A.T. moves to its new 10 p.m. timeslot, taking the place of the canceled Blue Bloods.
Tracker is back on Feb. 16 at 8 p.m., while The Equalizer moves to a new Sunday at 10 p.m. timeslot.
The new Sherlock Holmes-inspired series Watson premieres Sunday, Jan. 26 at 10 p.m. after the AFC Championship game. It moves to its regular 9 p.m. timeslot starting Feb. 16.
‘Will Trent’ sniffs out new cases at ABC
ABC kicks off 2025 with the broadcast premiere of season 2 of Hulu’s streaming hit Only Murders in the Building on Jan. 2 at 9 p.m.
Will Trent Season 3 premieres Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. New drama High Potential returns at 8 p.m. The Rookie Season 7 premieres at 10 p.m.
Abbott Elementary’s midseason premiere is set for Jan. 8 at 8:30 p.m.
New episodes of 9-1-1 begin airing on March 6 at 8 p.m., followed by the return of Doctor Odyssey at 9 p.m. and Grey’s Anatomy at 10 p.m.
In addition, the new Tim Allen and Kat Dennings comedy Shifting Gears premieres Jan. 8 at 8 p.m.
‘Animal Control’ Season 3 and ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ series finale coming to Fox
At Fox, 2025 begins with the season 3 premiere of Animal Control on Jan. 2 at 9 p.m.
9-1-1: Lone Star returns on Jan. 20 at 8 p.m., with the series finale set for Feb. 3. Rescue: HI-Surf is also back on Jan. 20 at 9 p.m.
Several new shows will also premiere in early 2025 on Fox, including the new comedy Going Dutch on Jan. 2 at 9:30 p.m. and new medical drama Doc on Jan. 7 at 9 p.m.
