Kim Kardashian West is preparing to file for divorce from Kanye West
If you haven’t heard by now, Kardashian West and West are headed toward a divorce.
News of their forthcoming breakup made headlines earlier this week when Page Six reported that a legal separation “is imminent” for the couple and that the KKW Beauty mogul has already started preparing for divorce with attorney to the stars Laura Wasser.
“They are keeping it low-key but they are done,” a source told the outlet. “Kim has hired Laura Wasser, and they are in settlement talks.”
Though this news of a possible split comes as a shock to many people, multiple media outlets confirmed that Kardashian West and West have been having difficulties in their marriage since the “Selah” rapper’s controversial presidential rally in July 2020.
While the pair have tried to keep their marriage together by taking family vacations to work through their issues, they, unfortunately, haven’t been able to get their relationship back on track.
As a result, Kardashian West and West started living separate lives as their marriage has reached a point of no return.
“Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce,” the insider told Page Six. “She’s done.”
Kim Kardashian West hinted at her separation from West over the holidays
Prior to news of her impending divorce, Kardashian West seemingly hinted that her marriage to West was nearing its end when she attended major family events without the rapper over the holidays.
During that time, she was also spotted without her wedding band.
In 2013, West asked for the reality star’s hand in marriage with a 15-carat diamond engagement ring from Lorraine Schwartz. But when Kardashian West was robbed during Paris Fashion Week in 2016, she gave up on flaunting massive jewels and decided to wear a simple gold band on her ring finger instead.
The last time the mom of four was seen wearing the ring was back in November while promoting her KKW Beauty Birthday Collection.
She was also seen with the ring on and off during her 40th birthday vacation. However, when she returned home from the lavish getaway, it seemed that there wasn’t a single time Kardashian West wore her wedding band.
On December 17, the reality star shared a makeup-free selfie with BFF La La Anthony on social media. In the shot, her left hand is clearly visible and ringless.
The KKW Beauty founder’s ring was also missing in photos from the Kardashian-Jenner’s annual Christmas Eve celebrations.
The real reason Kim Kardashian West hasn’t been wearing her wedding ring
Though many assume that Kardashian West not wearing her wedding band is a signal she’s over her marriage to West, it turns out that that’s not why her ring has been missing from her finger as of late.
According to HollywoodLife, the reason Kardashian West has been walking around without the symbol of commitment has nothing to do with West or their reported marital issues.
“She often chooses to go without it for pictures because she likes a clean look,” an insider explained to the outlet. “And when she’s home chilling out, she doesn’t always wear it, and that has been true for many years. It’s nothing new, people are just reading into everything.”
It sounds like Kardashian West was more comfortable going without her ring even before her marriage to West began to deteriorate.
