Where Did Tomi Lahren Go to College?
Conservative political commentator Tomi Lahren works for FOX Nation and is a proud supporter of former President Donald Trump. In 2016, Lahren obtained celebrity status when her interview with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show went viral.
Since that time, she has made a name for herself in the world of political broadcast journalism, leaving many to wonder where the controversial journalist got her start.
Lahren developed a passion for broadcast journalism in college
In college, Lahren became interested in broadcast journalism. She had an internship with Republican Congresswoman Kristi Noem, who is now the governor of South Dakota. According to Cosmopolitan, “that experience cemented her passion for politics but also taught her that she didn’t want to be a politician herself.”
The controversial commentator graduated from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. While in college, Lahren produced and hosted The Scramble, a political segment where she could freely express her political views.
According to Fox local news station KVVU-TV, “Tomi was very conservative then, and more students in the class were either indifferent, middle of the road, or liberal.” They explained, “There were not many with the conservative viewpoint, and she did not care.”
Lahren supports conservative views
When former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was making headlines for kneeling to protest racial inequality during the national anthem, Lahren became one of his most boisterous critics.
According to USA Today, the journalist is “a vocal opponent of stricter gun control and is staunchly pro-military.” An avid supporter of fracking, she also does not believe climate change is real.
Lahren has insulted Beyoncé, had Twitter battles with Cardi B, and according to People, has “compared the Black Lives Matter movement to the KKK.”
The 29-year-old conservative has a significant social media presence, with a staggering impact on how Millennials feel about the current state of the nation. She has 1.6 million followers on Twitter and 4.8 million followers on Facebook.
The anti-vaxxer is currently a host on FOX Nation’s Final Thoughts and No Interruption. She got her start on the One America News Network, where she hosted her own show, On Point with Tomi Lahren. At only 21 years of age, the young college graduate became the voice of young Republicans.
She then moved on to Glenn Beck’s The Blaze network, where she honed her critical stance against liberal agendas. In 2017, FOX News signed Lahren on as an online and television political contributor for the network. She also began working for the Great America Alliance, an organization aimed at supporting Trump politics.
The right-wing commentator has an estimated net worth of $3 million.
She considers herself a ‘millennial voice for Republicans’
The young Republican was born in Rapid City, South Dakota. She comes from a family of Marines and has an undeniable allegiance to the United States military.
According to Heavy, Lahren’s mother “has been her biggest supporter during Tomi’s rise through the conservative media world, and Tomi has often praised her for helping her get where she is.”
Two months after graduating from college, Lahren started hosting her show at One America. Within three years, the go-getter was working at FOX, which she describes as “every conservative’s dream.” Lahren recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee.
She was welcomed with open arms by State Representative William Lamberth. According to FOX 17 WZTV, he issued a resolution saying the Volunteer State “will happily reap the positive economic benefits resulting from the depopulation of our so-called elite liberal cities.” He proclaimed that “California’s loss is most certainly Tennessee’s gain.”
