Where Do the Duggars Live? These Duggar Family Members Left Arkansas
The Duggars first came into the national spotlight when their show, 19 Kids and Counting, premiered on TLC. The reality show followed the lives of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, a married couple raising their children the best way they knew how. There was a major difference from other families however: they had 17 kids (eventually, they had 19).
The Duggars were known for having a huge family and adhering to a strict sect of Christianity which had a lot of rules. The Duggar children did not listen to popular music or watch most movies, plus they dressed in a modest fashion. All the children were homeschooled by their mom, Michelle.
Where do the Duggars live?
The show first aired back in 2008, just one year after the family moved into their dream home. At the time they “only” had 16 children, but still, the sheer size of their brood meant that a tiny cape cod wouldn’t be very comfortable. That’s exactly why Jim Bob arranged for the family to custom build a 7,000 square foot home in Tonitown, Arkansas, which is located right outside of Springdale.
Jim Bob, Michelle, and the younger children still live there. But now that the eldest Duggars are getting older, they’re starting to leave the nest and start families of their own. Here’s where they’re all moving to.
Josh and Anna Duggar
Most people think of Josh Duggar in a negative light after the scandalous Ashley Madison infidelity and molestation scandals back in 2015. At the time, he and his wife, Anna, were living in Maryland while Josh worked at the Family Research Council (FRC) in Washington, D.C. In a statement on the family website, Josh admitted his wrongs when he said: “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.”
In Touch Weekly reported that Josh willingly entered a faith-based rehab program called Reformers Unanimous and resigned from his job at the FRC. Meanwhile, Anna and the children moved back to Arkansas and stayed with Josh’s parents.
The couple and their five children currently live in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, which is about 20 minutes outside of Tonitown.
Jana Duggar and John David Duggar
Duggar children don’t move out of the family nest until they get married. Even though twin siblings Jana and John David are two of the oldest Duggars, Jessa still isn’t wed, so she’s living at home.
John David married to Abbie Burnett on November 3, 2018. It’s not immediately clear where the pair will live, but it might be outside of Arkansas. Abbie is from Oklahoma, so they might live there. But John David already owns property in Arkansas that he’s been using as a rental, so they might stay.
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard
Jill’s siblings worried about her so much when she went on mission trips to Central America with her husband, Derick. But now the pair have moved back to Arkansas and settled down with their two children, Israel and Samuel.
They lived in a large house first then downgraded to a house with cheaper rent in Springdale.
Jessa Duggar and Ben Sewald
The exact location of Jessa and Ben’s love nest is undisclosed, but fans have figured out that the pair is living in Arkansas within driving distance of the main Duggar abode. Another thing that avid fans noticed? The pair lives close to a busy road, which isn’t necessarily safe for their children Spurgeon and Henry.

Like some other Duggars, keeping a low profile on the location of the family home is important to Joseph Duggar and his wife, Kendra. But we know they live close to Tonitown and did not move out of Arkansas.

Another Duggar son married his bride and finally got to move in with her after living at home up until that day. Lauren hails from Georgia, but the couple now resides in the Duggar’s home state of Arkansas.
Still living at home
The rest of the Duggar children are still living in their huge Tonitown home – and now with a few siblings gone, they have even more room to spread out!
Still at home are twins Jedidiah and Jeremiah (though rumors that he’s courting someone are swirling), Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace, and Josie.
