Where Is ‘Boy Meets World’ Star Danielle Fishel Now?
Boy Meets World was one of the most popular shows for young people in the 1990’s. It premiered in 1993, became a cultural phenomenon, and won several awards along the way.
Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga Lawrence, was one of the stars of Boy Meets World at the time. However, it has been many years since the show last aired, so there are no doubts fans who wonder about what Fishel might be up to now.
Her life has, of course, changed a lot. Read on below to find out what Fishel is doing these days.
Danielle Fishel was on ‘Boy Meets World’ for seven years
Fishel had some acting credits before Boy Meets World, but the show was what really brought her a lot of attention.
She originally started out on Boy Meets World as a minor character, but she joined the main cast starting in the second season. Topanga was mostly known as the love interest of the main character, Cory Matthews. She was also a very popular and intelligent girl that was wise beyond her years.
Fishel earned a YoungStar Award in 1998 for her work on Boy Meets World.
The series eventually ended in 2000 – after seven years on the air.
What Danielle Fishel did after ‘Boy Meets World’
Fishel continued to take on a lot of acting work after Boy Meets World. She appeared in movies like National Lampoon Presents Dorm Daze (2003), National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze 2 (2006), and Boiling Pot (2015).
Additionally, she was the host of a few shows like Say What? Karaoke, The Dish, and The Fuse 20.
From 2014 to 2017, Fishel and a few other Boy Meets World cast members revived their roles for the series’ spin-off, Girl Meets World. The show followed Topanga and Cory’s daughter, Riley (Rowan Blanchard), as she grew up and learned about the world.
Danielle Fishel has been married twice
In the late 2000s, Fishel started studying at California State University, Fullerton. There, she began dating fellow student, Tim Belusko. The two of them got married in 2013. However, they filed for divorce in 2015.
In 2017, it was revealed that Fishel was now dating Jensen Karp. The pair married in 2018, and less than a year later, they welcomed a son named Adler.
Fishel and Karp’s parenting journey has been a bumpy one. Their little child had to stay in the NICU for 21 days because of a problem in his lungs.
“Adler is bottle-fed because of the issue that he had, something called chylothorax,” Fishel shared with People. “It’s a leak in the lymphatic system. Unfortunately, my breast milk was creating fluid in his lungs, and we had to take him off of breast milk and put him on a specially formulated formula that doesn’t use the lymphatic system.”
Adler’s lungs eventually healed on their own, but Fishel and Karp admitted that the experience was rather “traumatizing” for them.
Danielle Fishel now has her own hair care line
Aside from being a mother and wife, Fishel is also adding another job title to her list – businesswoman.
In 2019, she launched a collection of vegan and cruelty-free hair care products called Be Free. The brand advertises itself as the sort of hair care line where fans “will never have to question our ingredients or our intentions.”
Fishel was partly inspired to start Be Free because of people’s obsession with Topanga’s hair when she was on Boy Meets World.
She shared with Allure: “I think what people love about ‘Topanga hair’ is volume, shine, and the appearance of it being effortless. In that regard, yes, you can absolutely expect to get closer to Topanga hair [with Be Free].”
