Where Is the Cast of ‘Married…with Children’ Today?
Married…with Children was one of the most successful sitcoms of the late ‘80s and ‘90s. The show was on the air for 11 seasons from 1987 to 1997, and it eschewed TV show orthodoxies concerning family interpretations at the time. The show put forth a dysfunctional suburban family who would rather walk on coals before saying something nice to one another. Imagine the stark opposite of Full House. The show followed Al and Peggy Bundy and their two children, Bud and Kelly. Yet, where are the main cast members today?
1. Ed O’Neill | Al Bundy
Ed O’Neil has been very lucky when it comes to starring in successful shows. He went from a leading role in Married…with Children to a prominent role in Modern Family a little over a decade after the Married…with Children finale aired. In Modern Family, he portrayed Jay Pritchett — another patriarch…yet this time around, he had a bigger heart.
Modern Family was on the air from 2009 to 2020. O’Neill also recently voiced Mr. Litwak in Ralph Breaks the Internet and starred opposite Dylan O’Brien in an episode of Weird City titled “The One.”
2. Katey Sagal | Peggy Bundy
Katey Sagal — who played Peggy Bundy in Married…with Children — also went on to star in another successful show years down the line. However, her next big hit was by no means a sitcom. Sagal starred in Sons of Anarchy as Gemma Teller Morrow from 2008 to 2014. Sagal played the protagonist, Jax Teller’s mother, and did all in her power to protect her family and prioritize the future of the motorcycle club that Jax was a part of.
Sagal also starred in the sitcom 8 Simple Rules from 2002 to 2005, but the show wasn’t built to last like Married…with Children. Sagal also appeared in 2017’s Dirty Dancing and Lost. She also recently appeared in her former co-star, Applegate’s, hit Netflix series Dead to Me.
3. Christina Applegate | Kelly Bundy
Christina Applegate portrayed the beautiful but not too sharp Kelly Bundy in the hit sitcom. Today, she is best known for starring opposite Linda Cardellini in the Netflix original Dead to Me — a dark comedy that follows two unlikely best friends as they explore the oddly funny experiences tied to loss and grief. Applegate also appeared in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Vacation.
4. David Faustino | Bud Bundy
David Faustino hasn’t starred in many widely known shows and movies since Married…with Children; however, he starred in the 2009 web series Star-Ving, based loosely on his own life. He notably voiced Mako in the hit animated series The Legend Of Korra, which ran from 2012 to 2014. He also appeared in Disney’s Mr. Boogedy and 2016’s Atomic Shark.
