Season 3 of Welcome to Plathville recently came to an end with some shocking revelations. The show began in 2019 and quickly gained favor among curious audiences who loved watching Kim and Barry Plath’s older children break away from their sheltered upbringing. The Plath family has recently undergone significant changes, including three of the members relocating to a different state. But where is TLC‘s Welcome to Plathville filmed? The filming locations are about to get a serious shakeup, that’s for sure.

‘Welcome to Plathville’ details the lives of the Plath family

Welcome to Plathville is a TLC reality television series that details the lives of the super-conservative Plath family. The family has taken to living away from many modern technological advancements, with the parents imposing strict rules on their children. For example, the Plath children aren’t allowed to have phones, watch TV, and aren’t allowed to eat sugar.

However, as the children have gotten older, they have learned to push back against their parents’ rules and ways of life. Moriah’s ambitions to go to college for independence and freedom, for example, led to a standoff between her and Kim. Fans of the show are aware that the Plath family prefers to homeschool their children, thus denying them of any social interactions outside the home. Some of the Plath fundamentalist Christian beliefs have also been called to question by some of their viewers.

The Plath’s willingness to keep their children couped up in their Georgia farm also brought about conflict between Kim, Barry, and their oldest son Ethan and his wife Olivia. Ethan and Olivia even decided to cut off communication with Kim and Barry for a period of time because of their controlling and manipulative ways.

In season 1, fans saw Kim and Barry clash with Ethan and Olivia due to their belief that the pair seemed to encourage the younger ones to rebel. The war, however, seemed to be intense on Olivia, whom the Plath parents saw as a bad influence. This led to frequent altercations, which ultimately led to a standoff between Ethan and his parents.

The situation got so bad that the two weren’t on speaking terms when the first season wrapped up. By the end of season 3, Ethan and Olivia were packing up and leaving for Tampa, Fla. The pair felt they needed to put some space between them and the Plath parents.

As fans have recently learned, Moriah is planning to join Ethan and Olivia as they move away. Moriah has always had a rebellious streak, with the season 3 finale seeing her rocking a purple hairstyle. But even the hair couldn’t have prepared Kim for what would follow as Moriah announced her exit from their home to her shocked parents. The plan is for her boyfriend, Max, to eventually join her in Florida, too.
