It was just weeks ago that Jana Duggar uploaded a video of her tiny house on Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s property. That home is free for the taking now. On Aug. 15, Jana Duggar married Stephen Wissmann in a wedding ceremony that took Duggar family followers by surprise. Now that Jana is married, surely she’ll be moving, and it looks like she’ll be living away from her parents for the first time.

Jana Duggar will be moving to Nebraska

At 34 years old, Jana Duggar was the eldest unmarried Duggar daughter. She watched her sisters and brother marry and move away, but now it’s her turn.

Now that the vows have been exchanged and Jana Duggar and Stephen Wissmann are officially husband and wife after a two-month engagement, they can start their life together.

Apparently, that life will center around the Nebraska town where the Wissmann family is based. In an interview with People, Jana Duggar revealed that she and Stephen purchased a home in Nebraska and have been renovating it. Now that they are married, she’ll get to do more hands-on work since she’ll be moving from her family’s Springdale, Arkansas, home to Milford, Nebraska. According to property records, the five-bedroom home was purchased in 2023.

Only 2 other Duggars have moved away from Arkansas permanently

Jana will be just the third Duggar sibling to move out of state after marriage. Jinger Vuolo was the first of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s kids to leave Arkansas. She first moved to Laredo, Texas, following her 2016 wedding. A few years later, she and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, packed up their Texas home and moved to California.

After selling their Santa Clarita home in July, the couple purchased a $1.9 million estate in Newhall, California. It looks like they are planning to stay in California for good.

Justin Duggar also opted to leave his family behind following his nuptials. Justin was barely 18 when he announced his engagement to Claire Spivey in 2020. The couple married in 2021, and Justin settled with Claire close to her family in Texas. The duo has yet to welcome any children. They do not maintain an active social media account.

While several other Duggars have wed spouses from different states, those spouses have all moved to be closer to the Duggar compound in Arkansas. Stephen Wissmann’s sister, Hannah, for example, left her family behind in Nebraska when she married Jeremiah Duggar. The duo appears to be living in an RV while they work on a property they had moved to land Jeremiah Duggar owns.
