Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have stood strong for nearly a decade. But recent reports allege the couple is currently experiencing a rough patch due to the coronavirus lockdown.
According to insiders, the Wests have allegedly been “arguing a lot” about new responsibilities brought on by the pandemic, prompting speculation that they are on the verge of a split. However, newer reports have suggested otherwise. Find more on those reports and the latest on their relationship below.
The reports on Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West’s alleged marriage problems
The reports started on April 29 when a source told Us Weekly that the couple had allegedly been fighting “a lot” during the quarantine.
“Kanye is really getting on Kim’s nerves,” the source continued. They claimed “all the parenting duties are falling on [Kim] while West immerses himself in work and “creating.”
“Kim finds it frustrating that [Kanye] doesn’t ask her how he can help with the kids,” the insider continued, referencing their four children: North, 6, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 11 months.

Kardashian West herself has talked candidly about the challenges she’s facing due to the coronavirus. In an April makeup tutorial, she said that she could not escape her children and had started hiding out around the house. She also said on a March 31 appearance on The View that the quarantine made her realize that she doesn’t want a fifth baby.
When asked if she had help on a 2019 appearance on the show, she admitted that she had nannies but noted that West had been on a “no-help kick.” For the most part, she claimed, she is the one who is “responsible for every single soul” in their home.

Other insiders have backed Us Weekly’s claims, noting that there has indeed been lots of chaos in the West household.
“It’s a huge chaos with all the kids at home,” said a People magazine source.
The insider also said that West isn’t always around, often spending his time away at work.
“Kanye escapes to his office for a work break,” the source went on. But at the same time, the insider said the rapper also makes sure that his wife has time to herself. “He also let Kim have a break [in late April] when he took some of the kids to Wyoming. They have been taking turns caring for the kids,” the insider continued.
Elaborating, a source told HollywoodLife on May 3:
“Kim really needed a break and some alone time so Kanye took the kids away to give her one. She loves the kids so much, but like any mom, she just needed time to herself. She needed a break from the kids and the screaming.”
“She needed peace and quiet and alone time for herself personally, but also because she needed to focus on her law studies and business meetings and decisions which included SKIMS. It was Kanye’s idea to go. She had work to do and felt she needed peace and quiet so Kanye took them.”
Despite rumors to the contrary, the source also said that the Wests are doing fine romantically.
“There are no issues in their marriage. They’re solid. They’re totally fine and doing great as a couple. It frustrates them to see otherwise,” the source stated, adding, “Just like any mom, Kim too needs time for herself.”
