Which ‘Real Housewives’ Have Walked off the Reunion Set?
There is always a pretty good chance a cast member will storm off the set during a Real Housewives reunion. Host Andy Cohen typically doesn’t hold back with his line of questions and some line of questioning can be brutal.
Many reunion walk-offs occur when either a cast member is being called out for certain behaviors. Or they feel as though they are being bullied or the discussion becomes too emotional.
Whatever the reason, reunion walk-offs are often some of the most memorable moments during a reunion. Bravo has cataloged some of the best reunion walk-offs. Plus Camille Grammer’s walk-off during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion had to be a first for the franchise.
This was a first
While there have been a number of reunion walk-offs, Camille Grammer’s exit made Real Housewives history. Grammer spent a significant amount of time on the couch getting hammered by not only the women but Cohen’s questions.
She fought back but eventually couldn’t take it anymore. She rose from her seat, wearing a gorgeous, full-length sequin gown and decided she had enough. But as she walked away, Grammer tried to remove her mic, which was located underneath her dress. Rather than waiting until she reached her dressing room, she decided to just lose the dress altogether.
“I got so upset and frustrated with the constant grilling I walked off the set. Then I unzipped my dress to remove my mic pack. Embarrassing moments. There are serval tonight,” Grammer tweeted.
The Ramonacoaster goes off the rails
The first big reunion walk-off was courtesy of Ramona Singer from The Real Housewives of New York City. During season one, Singer became visibly uncomfortable when the group discussed Alex McCord’s nude photos.
Singer insisted she had to go to the ladies’ room, as Cohen looked completely confused. She later admitted the discussion about the images made her feel uncomfortable.
More trouble in Beverly Hills
While Grammer’s exit marked the first departure with a wardrobe malfunction, it isn’t the only wild RHOBH walk-off. Before “Puppy Gate” was “Bunny Gate.” Lisa Rinna and Kim Richards feuded during season six. When Rinna tried to make amends by giving Richards a stuffed blue bunny for her newborn grandson it was promptly returned during the reunion.
Rinna was overwhelmed when Richards returned the gift and needed a moment to herself off-camera. Today the infamous blue bunny is on display in Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live Clubhouse.
The push seen around the world
The season two reunion of The Real Housewives of New Jersy resulted in Cohen getting shoved by Teresa Giudice as she warred with Danielle Staub. Giudice became enraged when Staub brought up Giudice’s family. Giudice lunged at Staub from her chair as Cohen tried to hold Giudice back.
But Giudice pushed Cohen back with some serious force. As the group tried to settle down, Staub calmly strutted off the stage while Giudice steamed, swearing at Staub while Cohen continued to restrain Giudice.
This ‘Real Boyfriend’ caused quite a stir
Two cast members from The Real Housewives of Orange County left a reunion thanks to Vicki Gunvalson’s ex-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers. After Gunvalson broke up with Ayers the women continued to hammer away at her about it during the 2017 reunion. Gunvalson stormed off the set insisting she was going to quit the show as a result.
Controversy surrounding Ayers also triggered cast member Lydia McLaughlin to walk off the set too. McLaughlin became upset when the cast discussed how Ayers suggested to Gunvalson’s son-in-law Ryan Culberson that he should hit his wife.
She walked off when there was no resolution
When Jill Zarin from The Real Housewives of New York City tried to ice out Bethenny Frankel, her plot didn’t go quite how she hoped. Zarin was angry with Frankel for not showing her husband Bobby enough love when he was hospitalized with cancer. Zarin tried to get the cast to turn against Frankel but it backfired.
During the reunion, Zarin tried to smooth things over but it was probably too late. She tearfully said, “I miss you, that’s all I want to say about you, I’m done.” Zarin then left the set.
This group therapy session went south
Family issues can be especially triggering. When a group therapy session went south NeNe Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta had to walk off the set. Dr. Jeff Gardere was on set and started to discuss Leakes’ issues with abandonment.
Leakes became overwhelmed with the discussion. “I don’t have anything to say. I can’t,” she said, E News recounts. She added, “I can’t talk about my mom.”
