It’s not unusual for celebrities to swap ex’s now and then, and in all honesty, it’s more common than not. When fans think about Ray J, however, Kim Kardashian comes to mind. Yet, there are whispers of a more renowned and prestigious celebrity getting comfy and cozy with the “One Wish” singer.
With that being said, the two were certainly close, making the potential for a romantic relationship more likely than you’d think for this unlikely couple.

Most people remember Houston for her unforgettable vocals and range in hit songs like “I Will Always Love You” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).” Her trademark voice was truly defined and one-of-a-kind.
She wasn’t only a great singer, however, the “So Emotional” singer also had a successful career in acting. Her most notable roles include playing Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard, Julia Biggs in The Preacher’s Wife, and Savannah Jackson in Waiting to Exhale.
The superstar had received dozens of awards for both singing and acting, including a Grammy sweep in ’94 when she brought home Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Performance — Female, and Record of the Year for The Bodyguard.
The relationship and scandal of Kim Kardashian and Ray J
One of her most infamous flings of the early 2000s was that of Kardashian West and Ray J. Following her first divorce to Damon Thomas in 2003, the reality TV star started seeing the “Curtains Closed” singer in 2005 and was on and off until 2007.
Things got particularly messy when a sex tape they made years earlier made its way into mainstream media via an inside scoop from TMZ and then porn company Vivid Entertainment.
The notorious sex scandal boosted the Kardashian name and led to higher ratings in the KUWTK premiere, several spinoffs, a cover on playboy, global fame, and several business ventures.
The Source reported that Kardashian West blames Ecstasy for the sex scandal. “I got married on ecstasy—the first time. I did ecstasy once, I got married. I did it again, I made a sex tape,” she said. “Everyone knows it. Like, my jaw was shaking the whole time.”

According to an awkward story told by Hitmaka, the mismatched couple at least had a sexual relationship. “I go in the room, Whitney Houston taking her pants off. I walk in the room, like she getting naked in Ray J’s room, and she like, ‘Get out of here, Yung Berg!’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m sorry’ and I ran out of the room.”
According to Vanity Fair, there’s more evidence that suggests the superstar singer did date Ray J, despite his track record for infidelity and sexual ventures.
“I saw her chasing a dream. Looking for love in all the wrong places. The dream she was chasing was younger,” Pat Houston said of Whitney and Ray J in an interview with Oprah. “She was chasing something that would ultimately hurt her.”
In another case, Ray J called Karren Steffans at her home, “He said, ‘Is Bob still staying with you?’ I said, ‘Yeah, he’s right here.’ And Ray said, ‘Tell him I f–d both of his chicks, you and now his wife.'”
Whitney Houston and Ray J never confirmed the allegations of their rumored affair but based on the stories given by several celebrities close to the pair, they likely did. If not, they at least engaged in sexual activity.
