Who is 49ers Running Back Raheem Mostert’s Wife, Devon Mostert?
Running back Raheem Mostert went undrafted in 2015 and bounced around the NFL seeing little to no action until he finally found a home with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. These days, the Florida native is enjoying a ton of success and really showcased his skills under the bright lights in the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers on Jan. 19, 2020. In that contest, he had 29 carries for 220 yards and four rushing touchdowns.
Before joining the Niners, Raheem had brief stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Miami Dolphins, the Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns, the New York Jets, and the Chicago Bears. But what has been a constant in his life for a number of years is the woman he’s married to. Here’s more about Raheem and his wife, Devon Mostert.
The two are college sweethearts and she’s also an athlete
Devon Beckwith was born on Aug. 2, 1993, in Chardon, Ohio to parents Kevin and Michelle Beckwith. She attended Chardon High School, where she excelled in soccer.
She earned a number of accolades including Four-time First Team All-Premier Athletic Conference performer, Two-time Second Team All-Greater Cleveland area standout, and Four-time academic all-conference honoree.
Devon continued to play the sport at the collegiate level as well for Purdue University and that’s where she met the Boilermakers football player. They began dating in 2012 and on March 3, 2017, the athlete couple tied the knot.
While her hubby has been tearing it up on the gridiron, fitness has remained an important part of Devon’s life. Today she is a black-belt in Taekwondo and STOTT-certified in Pilates.
They have one child together
Raheem and Devon have one child together.
On June 22, 2019, the pair welcomed a son who they named Gunnar Grey Mostert.
Since his birth, Gunner has made quite a few appearances on his dad’s Instagram as Raheem can’t help but show his little guy off to his more than 150,000 followers.
Raheem credits Devon with saving his career
Had it not been for Devon’s unwavering support through the years, Raheem wouldn’t be playing football today.
There was a time when his future in the NFL was uncertain and the couple had to move around a lot.
“It became second nature,” Devon said. “Every time he’d get released and picked up by another team, I would be like ‘I’ve got this. Don’t worry. Go to the next city. Worry about the playbook. I’ll handle the apartment and whatever I need to close on the bills.’”
At one point Raheem even thought about quitting but Devon and her family encouraged him to continue doing what he loved.
“They told me flat out: ‘If you love this sport, you’ll do anything for it,’” Raheem recalled. “And that’s one of those things that I always stuck by. I do love this sport. And I will do anything for it.”
