Who is Taylor Simone Ledward?
Leward is a singer who appears to live in Los Angeles, per The Mirror. She seemingly took an interest in music early on and went on to major in Music Industry Studies at California State Polytechnic University Pomona. While there, she reportedly joined the school’s jazz band and was eventually made the lead singer.
After graduating from the university in 2014, Leward continued on with her music career. She has not gained attention for any particular song, but it has been reported that she appeared on the hit competition series The X Factor, though those rumors have not been confirmed.
Inside Taylor Simone Ledward’s relationship with Chadwick Boseman
Ledward was linked to Boseman in 2015 when they were seen at an airport in Los Angeles. They were photographed together several times in the years that followed and eventually started making appearances together, including at movie premieres for Boseman’s films Black Panther (2018) and 21 Bridges (2019).
The pair never explicitly confirmed their relationship, but Ledward’s grandmother went public with the news in a 2018 interview with In Touch Weekly, telling the outlet: “They respect each other. She’s very happy, and he is, too.”
From there, the couple continued to keep a low profile. But Boseman gave Ledward a rare shoutout in March 2019 at the NAACP Awards when he won an award for his role in Black Panther.
“Simone, you’re with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you,” he said as cameras cut to Ledward mouthing the words, “I love you.”
By October, rumors were swirling that they had gotten engaged after Ledward was seen sporting a diamond on her ring finger. They never acknowledged the reports and went on to tie the knot in a secret ceremony as Boseman’s health deteriorated.
Chadwick Boseman has died from cancer
Boseman died at 43 after battling colon cancer for four years, his family said in a statement shared to his social media page. “Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. … He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side,” the statement said in part.
Ledward has not publicly commented on Boseman’s death at the time of this writing. Just Jared notes that she is on social media but that her settings are set on private.
