Sharna Burgess is one of the talented pros on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. Burgess has had to combat plenty of rumors regarding her dating contestants throughout her time on the show, including season 24’s Bonner Bolton.
Now, the DWTS Season 27 champion revealed that she is in a new relationship — and it’s with not a contestant from the show, past or present. Here’s what we know about Burgess’ beau.
Sharna Burgess isn’t dating ‘Selling Sunset’ star Jason Oppenheim
In an interview with Us Weekly, Burgess shared shocking news of a new relationship. “I’m not on the market anymore,” she said.
Despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Burgess has been partaking in safe, socially distanced dates. Contrary to popular belief, Burgess isn’t in a relationship with Selling Sunset real estate mogul Jason Oppenheim. They did go on a lunch date after a mutual friend set them up, but there wasn’t a love connection.
“It’s not Jason Oppenheim!” Burgess clarified. “We went on a lunch date and then we were just friends. We got snapped in a photo, and I guess he’s been asked in interviews, and it’s a very funny thing. But no, it’s not Jason Oppenheim. Great guy, but there wasn’t that connection there.”
In November 2020, Oppenheim shared similar sentiments about Burgess.
“She’s just super cool,” Oppenheim told Us Weekly. “We just went to lunch a couple of times.” Oppenheim wasn’t interested in a relationship at the time. His focus was on his kids and his Netflix account.

After dispelling the Oppenheim rumors, Burgess revealed little details about her “very new” relationship.
“It’s dating — no one is calling this a relationship yet,” she explained. Still, Burgess is excited about the prospect of forever with her new love interest.
“I’m looking for that soulmate stuff,” Burgess added. “That thing where something inside you recognizes that something inside them.” So far, Burgess feels like that could happen within her new relationship.
“It feels different to all the rest, I’ll say that much,” Burgess admitted.

At this time, Burgess won’t reveal who her new beau is. For now, she wants to keep the details of her relationship private. Initially, Burgess thought she would want to “shout from the mountaintops” when she fell into a new relationship. Ironically, it’s the opposite for Burgess.
“I want to hold it close to me for as long as I can to just stay in that space and enjoy that human for as much as I can, especially while it’s new and [we’re] getting to know each other,” Burgess explained.
Many fans are curious about who Burgess has been seeing during the pandemic. Unfortunately for those fans, Burgess is keeping that informaiton under wraps. During her interview with Us Weekly, Burgess hesitated to reveal who she was dating or deeper details of her relationship. Plus, she has been quiet on the social media. Regardless of how little fans know, many are happy Burgess has found a compatible partner.
