How did Kiefer Sutherland become famous?

Kiefer Sutherland was born in London in 1966, the son of actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas. When Kiefer Sutherland was only two years old, his family moved to California, where they lived for several years before Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas decided to divorce. Young Kiefer Sutherland moved with his mother to Ontario, Canada, where he lived for the majority of his childhood.

By the time he was a teenager, Kiefer Sutherland knew that he wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, and decided to take acting lessons. He began auditioning for various productions, getting cast in some small roles in television shows and Canadian television movies.
